  1. We spent the whole game horsing the ball into the air hoping for an opportunistic second ball. Utter garbage football for the majority from us. Morton did what they do best, break up any momentum and win the long balls. Strapp has a ridiculous throw in, so hard to defend against. The rest of his game consisted of long punts up the left and taking forever to cross the pitch to take throws. Awful, awful game.
  2. I read that as the minimum of their ambition was to be consistently in the top 4 of the championship. Its not like they'll get there and then think "job done". I'd be curious to understand what you expected the goal for a 3 year plan would be.
  3. Said this at the first game of the season in the cup, he looks a very good player.
  4. Did the commentator just call the guy "jonners"? That can get in the bin next to Butland and that Rangers shite.
  5. Lawless being incapable of doing anything but knock the ball into Edwards instead of past him isn't helping.
  6. Thats good for him. Some game time at a club that clearly does well with young players.
  7. The Blair Hopcroft ventriloquism episode on Youtube. Must be a 10-15 second delay between his video and audio. Good episode though.
  8. I remember Dunfermline being on top for long periods of that without doing much aside from shooting straight at Thomson when it was much easier to score. Though looking at that line up of Higgenbotham, Hypolyte and El Bakhtaui, its fairly understandable why it finished with no goals.
  9. McGill and Corr are casualties of the position we find ourselves in the league. I think had we been 3rd or 4th, we'd be seeing a lot more of them in games, mostly off the bench. But as we're fighting for 1st, not so much rotation going on.
  10. Also, being a chief scout, i'd imagine that means less going to other grounds yourself and more organising those who do go to grounds to get reports back to you on players you request or next opponents. Scouting is very much different to what it was 10 years ago thanks to things like Wyscout.
  11. If it doesn't directly affect the Old Firm, its an 8-4 vote basically.
  12. I'd agree with whats been said. I thought Fotheringham was quite good for United on Friday, without much end product, thankfully.
  13. Certainly wasn't with us long before he damaged his ankle. Lasting memory was him rounding the keeper against Hamilton and putting it over, we went on to draw 4-4
  14. Few things Inside Matchday made me recall. Its a quality bit of content from start to finish, really well done. Sibbalds lunge at Smith was a shocker, but at the same time a break stopping tactical foul. Deserved a yellow. Kai Fotheringham has come on leaps and bounds, when he was with us, he was brittle.
  15. Anyone know what time hospitality would start for a 7.45pm kick-off? Am I right in thinking it would be 5ish?
  16. Fucking weird when people criticise other teams for celebrating a victory. I blame (for many things to be fair) Jamie Carragher for starting that nonsense.
  17. See there were a few incidents with flares again. Thrown on the pitch before and after the game. More concerning though, during the first half, a few lads were down in the toilets having to clean blue colouring from their faces after a flare was thrown at them, one lad was being checked by a steward to make sure he hadn't been burned.
  18. You can do both, unless the beer has dulled the capability to multitask
  19. Good game overall and what a goal to win it. To be fair, I expected United to exploit the massive gaps in our midfield when we were caught on the break or by a switch of play and they did until they got to the edge of the box and suddenly had all the composure of Michael J Fox playing darts. All to play for.
  20. Prediction for the night, United will control the game for the most part, dominating the midfield, Rovers relying on quick counters and feeding off punts up the park from a panicked Dick and new boy Brown. Rovers creating their chances down the United right with Hamilton, Easton and Vaughan all drifting to that space and attacking a pretty weak link that is Grimshaw. Think it'll end in a draw though.
  21. I remember my first matches in the late 80s/early 90s were in that stand. Was fantastic.
