  1. I like Oliver a lot but he's always going to be a downgrade on nesbitt at 10...I would be inclined to keep him if he's happy to be an impact player but I suspect we'll need an upgrade for the championship
  2. But not at night it would appear...which was the right decision.... would you have tried to play football if we only had 10 men?
  3. It's a very strange thing indeed that accies have now twice tried to swoop for our better players...it's like Arbroath going for Dundee uniteds top lads... nobody would print it it's so unlikely...strange they take it seriously for a similar gap in club stature
  4. Latapy was a genuine footballing genius... anyone who enjoyed the latter stages of his career for us must agree with this...it's utterly unarguable
  5. Yes Definitely would yes...but he's not going to be on the same level of wage as these fringe players...if it was a straight swap in wage terms for mcginn then yes please come back Scotty
  6. I don't..it's a natural assumption that an older player playing in a lesser league is on the wind down...I just don't think we need to attempt to solve a problem we don't have by bringing back a club legend
  7. Spencers passing ability & hendorsons physicality & decent ability...& ahem a few decent results this year with them in the pumphouse tells me we shouldn't be considering an alstonesque cameo for someone who was undoubtedly a great player for us..now it may (if he's interested..he said he was)be a masterstroke... not a gamble worth taking imo...Spencer & Henderson will be our midfield in the championship & they will be good
  8. Seriously?...you are saying you'd have arfield...who I'm guessing you've not seen play since he left sevco before Spencer or Henderson..wow
  9. He's a skillful player & has an admirable work rate...if he could finish he'd be some player
  10. Point taken...& Latapy was a genius ..don't think we're comparing apples with apples
  11. Well obvs I don't I was quoting GM bairn...maybe I got it wrong... anyway Gordon miller I'm sorry
  12. Because I think the pace we play at doesn't suit a 35 yo arfield...I think you'd have to change our formation to shoehorn him in...
  13. All about opinions but I think GM is spot on here
  14. I agree with your Oliver assessment...I think he's a clever footballer who knows what he's good at...I like him as a 10 but as a 10 nisbett is better... would keep him for next year if he's happy to rotate...Oliver is great at keeping the ball... which as a short arse is a difficult skill to master..( love fellow 5 ft 11er)
  15. Our "character" around that era of late 80s early 90s was a "lassie" called Pamela who was foul mouthed & extremely loud but in no way as notorious as fergie...she probably went on to be an actuary or government policy advisor
  16. Well I for one feel sorry for the Clyde fans predicament even though a couple went over the top at the end when the players came over...as a survivor of the 1-6 double hat trick pumping Nostradamus couldn't have predicted where Clyde would've been 20 years later...you won't be bouncing back anytime soon either
  17. Don't think it is..... Falkirk for example tried for several years for outside investors/new regime & ended up with nothing apart from the Rawlins who quickly became disinterested...no local mystery multi millionaire businessman was interested...hard to see how Queens are a more attractive investment than Falkirk
  18. Had a feeling tumilty would sign for us bairns before he resigned...liked him in his loan spell & surprised to hear he ain't been that great
  19. Thought jobbie would use his contacts to get in enough quality to go on a run & get Clyde out this spiralling mess...looks like too big a task even for him
  20. Fair enough...John "I'll take it" McVeigh will be in that conversation as well
  21. A team that musters a whole 700 fans for a crucial game has a DOF..wow
  22. If hetherington is a big miss you boys are in trouble...in a long line of worst central midfielders to play for the navy blue he's behind mark traynor & just in front of Brian scrimegour
  23. Taking Falkirk out the equation Queens are the second biggest club in the league & shouldn't be as way of the pace as they are...MB interviews where he comes across as pleased not to get a pumping are frankly bizarre
  24. Complete & utter disrespect & arrogance...I'm fucking raging
