  1. Totally agree and the more grass parks the better as these sport centres are soulless and are destroying our grade of football ( totally aware that bellsdale has a slope of course)
  2. Didn't rob roy spend loads of the adamslie money on chasing glory when it was sold ? I could be wrong but I seem to remember them going mad for success in that period with wages and signings .
  3. I'm surprised that they actually remember what a guy who's played for beith looks like as it's been that long since they've been good enough to offer us a derby.
  4. Well done agent jay mckay and I'm sure he would have enjoyed that against them down the valley
  5. Well you clearly did as you quoted then replied to me .
  6. It's to a much smaller scale but can't help but draw comparisons with how darvel could end up with the road that gretna eventually went down . Brooke mileson and John gall both egotistical owners who undoubtedly raised their clubs profiles to a huge level but when these type of guys are gone then where do these clubs end up despite the thrilling moments that they witnessed along the peak of their journeys .
  7. I hope your building reports for the council were shorter than your pie and bovril posts
  8. A ground that was always capable of holding 2088 is getting the go ahead to allow 2088 into their ground, glad that this 900 nonsense is finished with as pollok got a real bad deal with that for sure .
  9. Yeah totally agree let the Talbot boys have their thread back.
  10. Conversely speaking though and Having your licence does guarantee entry into the Scottish senior cup every year unlike un- licenced clubs so you could argue that the outlay that these clubs have put out could be clawed back easily within a year or two if the licenced club gets a decent run and a few plum draws/TV money . I get that the initial outlay cost lots and that's undisputable however there's lots of factors in trying to keep a club at the top and financially cumnock made 20k from the second best striker in the league last season in Jordan Moore and I would take a guess that beith never got anywhere near that for the best striker in the league in Josh fowler. Only using cumnock as an example as a licenced club and as Scottish cup holders and cumnocks start to the season and them requiring a new manager suggests that they never recruited wisely nor spent too great and that can be a factor as I thought we outclassed them in spells in our recent game against them .
  11. I've heard this one mooted a few times now and it's been a legal ground owning process that's held beith back from Gaining a licence as opposed to shirking it/trying to gain a monetary advantage over our rivals to win trophies. Think it's being a wee bit disrespectful to Chris in alluding to that as we all know a few clubs( most certainly darvel in particular ) would have blown his budget out the water last season. For what's its worth Jonny Millar won beith various majors so what were the other clubs excuses back then when gaining a licence pretty much wasn't a thing ?
  12. That's an excellent post by the way however the manager you couldn't name got you guys to your first Scottish cup final since your win at fir Park against tayport in 1997 and got your club into its most recent Scottish cup final that was 29/5/16 and were only beaten on penalties. I know Tony isn't and wasn't everyone's cup of tea but it's fine margins.
  13. I'm away into a darkened room with a brown paper bag over my head for a minute or two after trying to decipher this.
  14. Nah you just seem to think you're some sort of godfather on here and try and shout everyone down. You don't even get to games.............
  15. That's actual top quality LOL patter ( actually dreadful patter)
  16. Some cracking ties in there for sure and tranent v East kilbride will get rid of a big hitter. Beith v Broomhill and just glad fo get a home draw and a wee bit less of galavanting for the time being.......before heading up to Hermes if not working .
  17. oops sorry I just read further up the thread Forgive me I'm still pished from lossiemouth
  18. Def Winton for me and well done to gav and co for going up to drum chapel and winning . Normally it would be St Andrews beating Talbot but not the way Talbot's season is going..
  19. I'm not here to gloat but when Talbot are reading a team out of , Number 1 -Aidan glavin Number 2- Ally Park Then you're buggered and I don't take any pleasure In saying that by the way .
  20. My experience of seeing players being loaned out is usually to teams down the leagues and it's seldom to teams in the same league as us , usually it's promising young boys for the future to get them playing again and maybe those who aren't quite ready for the demands of the premier league yet - hence they're loaned out down the leagues to give them game time and to beef them up a bit .
