  1. Read in our thread they'd tried to ban genuine home and away supporters too. There certainly wasn't anywhere near as many young fans against Kelty as there had been. Seen some getting searched before entry too. I could be wrong with the official banning though
  2. I seen we've banned a lot of the younger fans from the Recs, not sure how that works with away games. Edinburgh away been a bit of a bogey fixture for us. Hopefully with the way we've been playing recently we'll do enough to come back with 3 points. Will be interesting to see who replaces Wales up top if he is away with Scotland. I think Roy's the better choice if we're wanting to play the same type of football but Sammon is good for a goal and can never fault his efforts.
  3. Second TOTW for Steven this season I think?
  4. Anyone know if Wales is going with the U19 squad? If he goes, I'd like to see Roy get a go up front over Sammon. With the way our attackers were linking up on Saturday, think Roy would fit into the role better.
  5. Shocking to tar all fans with the same brush. I thought the young fans coming in singing and trying to get an atmosphere going was a good thing for the club. Just the ones who were purely there to cause trouble with opposing fans needed dealt with. Seen other clubs like Peterhead made a new stand for their young fans to encourage them. The club should be doing all it can to encourage more people into the ground, not trying to ban people doing nothing wrong.
  6. Noticed some of the young fans were getting searched before they were going into the ground. Have a few of them been banned? Seemed to be a fair amount less than usual
  7. Good performance all round for us, could have had 4/5 goals on another day. Guessing PJ injured in the warm up? Don't remember Ogayi having much to do. One thing about the team is they are all definitely playing for Andy and each other. If you'd said at the start of the season you'd see Coulson and Taylor sprinting back to help defend, I don't think many would have believed you. Even LD put in a decent shift tracking back. If the league has a tally of aerial duels won, I'd imagine Neill is top of that list.
  8. Well deserved for both. Liked Andy's interview saying it's the whole management team and not just him, just seems an all round likeable guy. Would like to here his footballing story in an interview with Open Goal. Seen our game with Cove's been picked for TV as well
  9. Not sure if Jay was maybe asked to stay given we only had Burt to replace him. Think it was after Muir had left? If I was Wales agent (if he has one but I'd imagine he does), I'd be encouraging him to go and show what he can do against players of a similar level. If he's had interest from clubs down in England already, surely a lot of clubs look at these U19/U21 competitions to scope out talent so he could earn a move in the summer.
  10. We should be looking to take 9 points from these next three games if we want to cement our place in the playoffs. Hopefully Miko fit to return and push Scougall up to replace Cawley. Other than that, wouldn't make any other changes
  11. I totally forgot about the 5-0 loss to Falkirk, must have repressed that memory.
  12. Player of the Season: Kurtis Roberts Surprise Package: Kurtis Roberts Most Improved Player: Steve Buchanan Disappointment of the Season: Euan Deveney Goal of the Season: Taylor Steven v Stirling Win of the Season: Hamilton away Loss of the Season: Stirling Albion at home Signing of the Season: Bobby Wales (if loans count)
  13. Could end up being sponsored by a popular kids comic and play our home games at the Beano Stadium. Only saving grace would be the different spellings
  14. For a guy a bit iffy coming for crosses in his own box, PJ done well to win two headers up the other end. Maybe Andy could encourage him to come out and head crosses away instead. Can we get a worst celebration of the season award this year? Got a few contenders
  15. Only watched the highlights but all four goals conceded are poor on our part. Like someone said about Cawley, Taggs has lots of credit in the bank but he looked at fault for at least two of the goals. Two free kicks into the box with Montrose players unmarked. We hit the woodwork 3 times and had a few good chances so can probably count ourselves a little unfortunate to come away with nothing. Did Cammy go off injured or was it a tactical sub? Would be interesting to hear what Kev said to merit the red card. One of my favourite things about lower league football is you can hear the players/managers shouting at each other and the ref. Heard many players swearing at the ref or questioning decisions without getting a yellow card, let alone a red. Will be interesting to see how the team bounce back next week. Kelty got a battering off Hamilton so they'll be looking to bounce back too. Next three games are similar to our Annan/Stirling/Annan run where we should be looking for 9 points.
  16. Guessing Miko will be fit for Saturday but if he's not would be nice to have Scougall available to play in the deeper role. If not I'd guess Robbo would play. I'm not a big fan of Andy bringing Sammon on and pushing Wales out to the wing, don't think it gets the best out of Bobby. Would be interested to see Sammo play behind Wales to try and get some flick ons for him to chase.
  17. Kurtis in the team of the week. Two weeks in a row we've had a player in the XI. Nice to see Jay in there too
  18. Unlike Cove and Hamilton, Montrose have had good results recently. I think in the form table they're just behind us. Last few seasons, we've done pretty well against Montrose so hopefully it continues!
  19. We've gone from having Cammy's freekick as a standout goal of the season winner to having 4 to choose from in the last few weeks. I wonder if Andy and the management team are making any efforts to sign some of the squad up for next season. If Kurtis keeps his form up, I've no doubt he'll have offers from teams in the championship (one of them could be us ). Good to see Devine back, wonder if he'd have played from the start if McKay was available or if Andy would have tried to ease him back in a bit more. McKay did well when he played but I think Devine and Neill are our best partnership.
  20. He's mentioned in the Open Goal interview with McGlynn. He said he always felt playing as a number 9 would suit Ross better than how we had him playing in a sort of number 10 role with Sammon up top.
  21. Nice to see Steven making it into the team of the week.
  22. Good job with the pod as usual, soon be at episode 100, expecting something special when it comes Found Steven a bit frustrating to start with, he was a bit greedy without doing much with the ball. Remember hearing a fan telling him to f off back to St Johnstone at one point. Think it's been since the Motherwell game he's totally turned it around. Think Wales will go to the top and if Taylor keeps going the way he is, he could make it there too. One thing I've really liked about Miko is his match awareness, you see him slotting in at right back if Taggs is pushing forward and he dropped back to cover Neill when he went for a jaunt up the pitch. Had a laugh at Andy shouting if you ran up, you can run back to Neill after it too. The company my dad works for is based in Finland so he's been telling his colleagues about Miko. Apparently Alloa (in Finnish it's written ällöä but not sure how it's pronounced!) translates roughly to gross in Finnish.
  23. Would be good to name the same XI as Saturday but assuming McKays red card will stand and Cammy might not be fit to play. Guessing, as suggested above, Robbo would come in and move Taggs in to CB. Not sure how close to fitness Devine is but guessing he won't be available Saturday again. Probably Sutherland at LB if Cammy is out. Thought Coulson was underpar on Saturday but to be fair most of the team were poor first half and he was up against Doyle who was up and down the wing all half, unlike others he never got the chance to redeem himself second half getting subbed off early. We go into the game with a lot of confidence in the team, hopefully come away with a win but I'd be happy with a draw to keep our unbeaten run going.
  24. Big gate was open as normal. Did notice our section of young supporters seemed a bit smaller than against Stirling and Falkirk. How does the appeal process work for the red card? Guessing they'd review our match footage?
  25. Are we sure the same 22 players came out for the second half? The game totally turned on it's head. Been a bit critical of Morrison this season but he made some very good saves today. Another highlight reel goal for Steven. Very harsh red card too, his foot didn't leave the ground and he got the ball.
