  1. Sorry to hear about your young fans getting attacked leaving the game. Our "casuals" are an embarrassment. Hopefully the club can do something about them going forward and keep them away from the games. 3-1 flattered us a bit today. You didn't look like a club in the midst of financial troubles on the park. You're number 10 (Dean I think?) looked pretty good.
  2. Will we have got a bit of money for Brad then? Wish him all the best, we could end up playing him next season! On PJ and Phil, I think as shot stoppers, Phil may slightly edge it but in terms of organising defenders in front of him and positioning, PJ's time in full time football puts him ahead.
  3. Sad to see Rodden go, but guessing that means we should be keeping Wales, Steven and Roy for the rest of the season? Good signing for Stenny, I'd like to see them come up to league one to give us another local derby.
  4. Hopefully we can keep Wales till the end of the season. I'd like us to keep Steven as well. Despite his early run of goals, Roy is the loanee I think we'd miss the least especially if Wales starts banging them in. Not surprised we won't be adding to the squad. I know Rankin is on loan at East Stirling, is Cannon on loan somewhere too? If we get Phil back fit I'd look at loaning Burt out so he can get more playing experience
  5. Thought we looked good defensively for the majority of the game but no idea how Lyon was gifted that much space, then nobody seemed to want to tackle him. Think we should stick with this back four when they are all available. Agree we were better first half with Montrose improving in the second half. Few questionable calls from the ref too. Coulson getting booked for diving and Hetherington getting a yellow card when it looked him it was him that was fouled. Happy for Wales to get his first goal, hopefully see him get some more before he goes back to Killie.
  6. Old Brewery usually offer a discount for people going to the game but not sure if it's for home fans only. We've been coupon busters the past couple of weekends and performed well in both games. Hopefully we can keep it going and get another 3 points. Hopefully Steven will be fit enough to return.
  7. Can't complain at 3 points away to the form team, but Wales breaking his duck would have topped it all off!
  8. Probably the same "fans" who were hiding behind a security guard when the Falkirk "fans" were waiting outside for them. Would be a nice gesture from the club to pay for the repairs but don't see it happening. Thought we played well yesterday and for a 0-0 it was a pretty entertaining game. Thought our defence coped well and was impressed with Cammy. McKay and Neill done well too. Got to praise Coulson for his efforts defensively as well, he done a lot of running up and down the wing and helped Cammy out when needed. Hadn't really seen that side from him before. Wales really good all game but almost seems like a higher power doesn't want him to score for Alloa. Thought Scougs should have been subbed about 10 minutes before he limped off, could see he was knackered but hopefully him and Cammy will be fit for next week. Couple of decent saves from Morrison but he looks dodgy at other times.
  9. Hopefully another couple of weeks training with Andy will help the players out. Seen in the Advertiser Andy said his injury problems are easing so will be interesting to see what formation/personnel he goes for with more players to choose from. I liked the 3-5-2 we were playing before Rice left, we started to see the best of it when we were able to play the same XI for a few games in a row.
  10. Any idea if there will be a pitch inspection today? Hopefully game will go ahead but not sure if weather worse down Annan way for them travelling
  11. Ideally a home draw against one of the big teams to get a big crowd and maybe on the Tele again but I'd take any team that isn't in league one. Hopefully Cammy can stay fit now and get a good run in the side. I don't think Devenney is good enough defensively for a back four. He gets away with it when playing as a wing back and has shown improvement in his defending against Stirling and Queens. Would be a good advert for our academy is we have the likes of Cammy and Buchanan playing regularly in the first team.
  12. Listening to the Open goal interview with Jim Goodwin and he's very complementary to us. Called Mike Mulraney the best chairman he's worked with. Admits he made some mistakes but said starting his management career down the leagues was good for him.
  13. Seems strange to change the formation given we'd been playing well with it. Although if we'd won 3-0, it'd have been called a masterstroke. Must be hard, especially for part time players, to prepare to play a different position in a week. It's not often a manager takes over a team playing well so must be tough choosing between sticking with what the team were doing or changing to your own ideas. From the highlights, Devenney looks partly to blame for two goals. Third goal looks like no one told him the man coming behind him and second goal looks like he never passed Mahon on. Hopefully a good win against Dunbar next weekend.
  14. 3-1 Alloa, Andy to stick himself up front and bag a hattrick. Agree I'd like to see Rodden and Roy up top together, it's a bit harsh on Coulson who done well against Stirling but bringing in Rodden means we don't have to move Steven up with Roy. Other than the forcer change, don't think I'd make any more.
  15. Glad we've gone for Andy and not one of Scottish footballs dinosaurs. I don't think he'll change much about the formation or personnel. It's rare for a new manager to come in to a side that are playing well, usually they come in and have to make big changes to fix problems. Would like to see him start himself up front on Saturday for a laugh though. Has he officially retired from playing or going to be a player/manager? Wish Rice all the best in his return to full time work!
  16. I'd like Andy and Paddy to be given it till the end of the season. If we were going to go out with the club, I'd like Kevin Thomson. Left field shout could be Charlie Mulgrew.
  17. Who picks our man of the match? They picked Roy yesterday who was pretty quiet aside from his goal and they picked Taggs the other week when he was poor (by his standards!) but scored a penalty.
  18. Thought we were the better team all game, we dealt with Queens long balls pretty well for the most part but still had a couple of dodgy defence moments. Going forward we looked good but the last ball lets us down quite a bit. Nice for Roy to get the club record now. 4 goals in 4 games from a guy who couldn't get a game in the lowland league. Roberts and Hetherington both covered a lot of ground today. With the stamina and energy the man has, I feel sorry for Kurtis Roberts Mrs.
  19. Kevin Thomson might get a mention. He done well at Kelty but we've been burnt hiring someone who done well at Kelty before!
  20. Hopefully since talks have been going on, we've got a couple of replacement options lined up. Guessing it'll be Andy and Paddy taking charge on Saturday
  21. Hoping for another clean sheet so we don't have to hear those rattles again!
  22. Steven or Coulson probably the hardest to choose. Think Coulson done enough on Saturday to merit keeping his place, you could see from his celebration after his assist how much it meant to him. On the other hard, Steven has been pretty good for us the last month or so and only lost his place due to injury. If Steven is fit, I'd probably still start Coulson and try to give Steven about half an hour to ease him back in.
  23. Been a bit hit or miss. You see flashes and can tell there's a good player in there somewhere. Like Church last year, he's better going forward than he is defending. Although he probably had his best game defensively against Stirling on Saturday, put a couple of decent tackles in. Looks like he overthinks it at times and ends up taking a few too many touches.
  24. Barring any fresh injuries, I'd like to see the same XI start on Saturday. Maybe bring Scougall on at half time/early in the second half to get more minutes into him. We looked better at the back and PJ done a good job organising the three in front of him. Ogayi is a decent (albeit a little unorthodox) shot stopper but I don't think he's got the same communication as PJ. If he's injured, I'm sure the fans would love Ogayi on as a co-commentator!
