One other detail others haven't mentioned. He's played 10 total minute's of football since May 2022. (15 months) Played those 10 mins in the League cup this season and then was out again through injury again.

Adds even more confusion to the "Gordon was left out" as well? Making last minute changes to bring him into the squad after deciding and probably telling him you're leaving him out seems an odd move. If we sign Sven then he'll replace McGowan as a midfield option as well. Whether we sign him or not it's evident we're looking for another to play that defensive role.

If Gordon wasn't left out got McGowan on Saturday I would have said McGowan might have been a candidate for one that was told his game time might be limited. Wouldn't be down to his performances but we've signed Smith to play instead of him in midfield, we've now got cover at right back. The only place that leaves is at centre back

Yeah without doubt he should take the chances. Especially the one laid on his left side from the Yang ball across. Mitov seems to create himself a bit of luck as well by always making himself big etc. He does seem the real deal, looks a top signing for Saints. A betting man would say no matter which league Saints are in next season he's unlikely to be at the club! Might not make it past January if we're struggling and he continues the form. Seems a good guy too.
