Rovers 🔵 v United 🟠 - top of the table clash
Liam899 replied to Scary Bear's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
United look OK on the ball, but no standout player. No real physicality or presence. I still think they will come up though. Thought Raith looked poor for a lot of the game but when they did have their spells on top they were far more intense and direct and caused problems. Probably an even enough game in terms of chances created although Utd did look to have control of things for periods without doing too much. Great game though, really enjoyed it! What a strike, and Byrne’s physicality wasn’t matched by Utd in there. Thought he had a good game before he went off. Some league!- 621 replies

Did you add these lines? That can’t be an official VAR pic?

Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread
Liam899 replied to Kyle's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Brilliant away crowd and one of the best atmospheres this season at Dens. Thought first half you marshalled things well. But second half totally capitulated. Your full backs are weak and I thought you lacked physicality in midfield. I’ve no doubt you’ll stay up then thank Levein and go for someone a bit more progressive? He’s never going to change his style of football. Absolutely nothing wrong with going direct and being difficult to beat but there’s no purpose, no real strategy. Same tactics I see on a Sat morning in the amateur league and that sounds OTT but I genuinely believe it. Good luck for the rest of the season. -

How good is the Doc though? What a manager. He’s so loyal to the players and you can see he’ll defend them to the hilt. No wonder they give him everything. -

How can you be a full time manager deploying tactics like that? Arse-bleedingly bad. -

Yeah it’s a hard one. And that’s obviously why he’s struggling to get in. He’s probably better than McGhee but McGhee is in form. I think he can affect games coming on at least. -

Cameron has been exceptional. I’d like to see Mulligan play more too. Decent crop of young players in our side. -

Go and read our thread from defeat against St. Mirren. Your team are woeful. That’s a fact. Craig Levein -

Well if you’d read my post I said you’d stay up and also complimented saintees fans. If you’re looking for compliments based on your team you’re surely at it. -

When? I may be wrong but I’ve never seen you need any more than the shankly stand which is 3500. Thought Saints brought a bit of atmosphere to the game, fair play. -

Totally deserved that. Was worried it was going to be one of they days but we kept playing. Levein and Kirk going berserk whenever the full backs tried to play was hilarious. You’ll stay up, but don’t think Levein is the man to lead you into a full season. Love the Doc -

Dropping Shaughnessy is ridiculous. I get he’s not been up to his usual standard but he’s played a ridiculous amount of minutes in short space and can tell it’s affected him. Knee jerk sweeping changes isn’t the way to go. We will be fine. -

Dodgson is miles better than Kerr would be in the same position. Isn’t even a debate, surely. However, we are missing Portales and the option of Lamie. -
Haven’t caught up with reflections on the game but St Mirren deserved to win and it was never a red card. We looked shattered. Worst performance of the season. Still got so much faith in the side though. Huge game against St. Johnstone on Sunday.
-
We look pretty flat / jaded. Surprised St. Mirren haven’t really taken advantage although have certainly edged it. Best chance fell to Beck but couldn’t finish it. Hopefully we can improve in the second half. Missing Bakayoko I think.
-
Difficult venue against a good side. Probably not too much between the teams except defensively. Out injuries at the back are costing us. We had a ton of clean sheets in the first half of the season. Hopefully Portales isn’t too far away. Lamie would also make a difference. We’re scoring a lot of goals but as others have said I’d probably take a boring 0-0 draw and move on to games against sides at the bottom.

Dundee vs. Hearts - 3/2/2024
Liam899 replied to RossBFaeDundee's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I get what you’re saying. And I can’t really disagree with respect to that seems to be the rule. But if you watch the video, he’s turned away and pulled his hands in. Shankland has blasted it from a yard away. It’s ridiculous. The shot is going straight to Carson. Now obviously there’s an argument that he may spill it into the goal or back out to a player, but I just find it ludicrous. Players have hands and arms, and for me, if it’s not deliberate and not unnatural then it shouldn’t be a penalty. Anyway, it’s done. Shankland was immense. I probably haven’t given him much credit for how good technically he is. He’s a real all rounder. f**k knows what happened in Belgium because he should be playing for a bigger club, no disrespect as Hearts are a massive club in Scotland too. -
Aberdeen's Next Permanent Manager 23/24 Edition
Liam899 replied to Ludo*1's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
My worry is Docherty joining in the summer. Hopefully I’m underestimating Aberdeen’s ambition here, although I do think Docherty would do a good job. Warnock would be a pointless appointment in my view.
