    Yeah I think to suggest his contract should be terminated over this is wild. He’s a young boy that made a mistake. He’ll be under no illusions now that it’s not acceptable and he’ll learn from it.

    Heard from someone at Morton that he was getting a really hard time from others behind the scenes when he was there. Not sure how true that is or how bad it was but it would explain him leaving as from the outside looking in he would at least have been a useful member of the squad.

    Am I the only one really happy with our squad? For me there is no need for ‘quality signings’. I think we now have really good options all over the park and if you look at the bench today it was really strong. Even the defence now has strength in depth.

    Tbf I would like to see mcstravick left wing just to see how it goes, although I feel like maybe his pace is more across 10 yards than any sort of distance

    That first sentence I have highlighted just shows a complete lack of understanding of the game. Do you think the manager hasn’t thought of this? Do you remember when we played with a diamond in midfield and 2 up front last season? I do and it simply didn’t work. Even if you don’t think the wingers contribute enough (which is insane considering gabby’s stats last season) you need them there so that the opposition are wary of the danger. Otherwise you just become so easy to read that you don’t create anything. Also you think that gaping hole in the middle of their defence happens if we have every player in the middle? Come on man

    Not sure how you can watch that goal and come away with the conclusion that there is something wrong with the way we are set up. do you really think we would have that space in the middle without wingers to drag defenders away?

    Happy with this. Experience clearly isn’t the issue with the defence so happy with a young hungry defender with hopefully a bit of pace.

    I’d be surprised if you’re not in the opposite end. Yous will take a decent support and also our support has increased this season so would make sense.

    Agree with this team except I don’t think Gallagher and todorov in a front 3 can work really so I’d have mcgregor on the left as that role requires someone with pace. I know he can be very hot and cold (as is normal for teenagers) but O’Connor so far is just cold so mcgregor all day for me. Wouldn’t mind seeing mcstravick there in the future but as he’s suspended I’m happy with McGregor as when he’s on it he can be a nightmare to play against.

    Don’t think he was atrocious at all, he is a better player than McCabe simple as that. Yes McCabe is good on the ball but he slows the game down and is as good as a man down off the ball. McMaster has been one of our best players so far this season and even though he didn’t have a good game yesterday McCabe was objectively worse.

    Just accepted that we will never win at gayfield. There is no style of football that will have you winning every game and Arbroath’s style is always going to be very effective against ours. We’ve honestly more chance of giving united a pumping at tannadice. However, I still believe in the way we play as I think it suits us and we are a much different prospect at home. Also thought the line up we started with was quite strange. I may be in the minority but I’d start Hancock at left back everyday and put ballantyne at right back ahead of Watson. Also think that’s one of our weakest midfield combinations imo. Far from a disaster in the grand scheme of things but probably the worst I’ve seen us play under McCabe. Can’t remember us having 0 shots on target in a game in years.

    I think a lot of Airdrie fans think we really should be winning this one mostly because basically all pre season predictions had us as the bottom 2 but having seen us and Arbroath this season, I actually think we’ll both be fine. Been impressed with Arbroath’s summer signings as from the outside looking in it seemed like the recruitment was what put them in trouble last year. I’d bite your hand off for a draw but I think it’ll be a good game between 2 teams I believe won’t be miles off top 4 this season. Hot take I know
