  1. I was told he wasn’t particularly impressive at Forres so maybe we don’t think he’s good enough long term for us? Fair enough if you think our youth systems poor that’s your opinion. Plenty players have progressed through it to the first team, a smaller number have been sold on for decent money too. It’s night and day compared to Ross County for example.
  2. Cairns was recalled to cover injuries. Ideally he’s loaned again to get regular playing time, allowing him to develop some of his decent attributes further. He’s one for the future.
  3. His one year deal this season is worth 55K per week (2.86 million.) He must’ve heard about the battery storage.
  4. Had a quick glance there and if I’m correct we’ve won 2 of our last 16 league matches
  5. John Robertson not working for the BBC today, presumably he’s somewhere dusting off his managerial golf sweater
  6. Aye last season was definitely the best chance. We started and finished very well. The second quarter (Gardyne issue) our results dipped quite badly but the 3rd quarter (13 winless matches) killed us. Who or what caused that bad run I don’t know. One difference between us and Killie after January was their signings like Lafferty and Ash Taylor made an instant impact along with a new manager, whereas Logan Chalmers and Samuels only got going in March.
  7. I think the two best opportunities of promotion came in our first season down and last season. First season as others have mentioned we had great momentum and still had a handful of premiership players we hadn’t shipped out. Just took too long to get going unfortunately, I think it was written on Robertsons face at Morton how big a chance missed it was. Last season we signed very well. Good strength and depth throughout with a decent blend of youth and experience. First time we’ve actually had some kind of sustained title challenge up until around Christmas / New Year. I genuinely believe we’d have won the league last season if it wasn’t for the Gardyne problem. We had too much for teams to go on as bad a run as we did. Losing him as player was a big loss, but who knows how it impacted the team longer term.
  8. What’s the problem with Kellacher? John Hughes described him as a fantastic asset. I think under Hughes he proved he’s capable of coaching good football and to some extent under Robertson too. Surely it’s his job to coach the style the manager wants, easy on the eye or not.
  9. From within the club I would go with Robertson temporarily. It’s cost effective and honestly i’m still not convinced his role is necessary. He had a hand in scouting those players and did sign many of them himself in his managerial stint. Furthermore, he’s managed recently compared to someone like Christie. Long term absolutely not him though, he’s had his chance and we regressed quite badly in his final season. Ideally we go with someone out with the club imo but financially that might not work at the moment.
  10. Didn’t Aberdeen put out a statement regarding Goodwin amid pressure saying they wanted immediate results and then received criticism for it? Then they sacked him one match later roughly. I can’t imagine we’ll put a statement out and it’s probably best not to imo. The club will have a limit and the fans will only find out what that limit is if/when he’s sacked. The rumours last time was he had the Arbroath match to save his job, something like 12 or 13 matches I think.
  11. I hit you with a red because you are singling a person or people out - you accused me of singling folk out last week, slightly hypocritical no? You remember last Monday don’t you Sandy? When you couldn’t form a comeback to my reply that highlighted I am indeed not a happy clapper
  12. We lost tonight because we are defensively terrible and can’t take our chances at the other end - this has happened too often recently. A majority recognise injuries contributed to bad results and performances previously - but they are not a major factor now. Many believe we need a managerial change and I agree, I can’t see Dodds turning this around unfortunately and we need to make a change temporarily or permanently. @SandyCromarty who has actually said Dodds is a good manager? I’m curious as I’ve not seen anyone say it
  13. I agree they should’ve put it on social media themselves, the podcast apparently has a decent following though
  14. Gardiner did explain how every single injury occurred on the podcast - unfortunately he didn’t provide return dates which caused issues and frustration.
  15. Good to see Samuels confirm he was injured and not on strike as was suggested by a couple on here, whoever started that rumour should apologise immediately!
  16. It’s cost effective if we appoint the sporting director temporarily, but I agree the warm embrace between Dodds and the Chairman last week suggests he’s safe.
  17. I thought in the first half excluding a 5 minute spell we were playing some good football and really should’ve been 1 or 2 up had Daniel Mackays touch been better. Second half we immediately concede through a mistake and collapse. Hamilton have improved massively, thought their midfielders 8 and 21 were really impressive and the fight they showed took the piss out of Welsh and Allardice. I think the majority want Dodds gone now, if we lose again on Tuesday how can anyone make a good argument for keeping him.
  18. This Hamilton double header makes or breaks our season imo. Win the 2 matches and we are roughly 6 or 7 points off 1st / 2nd with 11 matches remaining. That is achievable. Thankfully we’ve never struggled against Hamilton.
  19. Sandy you can read all my posts and you’ll see they haven’t been pro Dodds and it’s ridiculous to suggest so. I have so far complained about the lack of transparency regarding injuries, complained about the play style, the reluctance to change formation and finally stated Billy Dodds has limitations as a manager. At no point have I said he’s a good manager. Do I believe the primary reason for the bad run there was injuries? yes, but that’s not necessarily pro Dodds. I tend to use facts in my arguments, you tend to use baseless conspiracies for example players not giving 100% (who was that?) and claiming players are on strike?? Yours sincerely Dilly Bodds
  20. “Only 5 of todays 11 started against Partick, so not a majority. The difference is we had a far larger squad today, but more importantly, substantially more quality” Sandy please don’t embarrass yourself by trying to argue yesterday’s starting 11 wasn’t stronger than against PT
  21. I didn’t say that wasn’t a factor. Regardless, compare the 2 lineups and you should see a big difference in both squad depth and quality
  22. Only 5 of todays 11 started against Partick, so not a majority. The difference is we had a far larger squad today, but more importantly, substantially more quality.
  23. Huge result, hopefully with the injuries subsiding that gives us the confidence we’ve been lacking to kick on. Nevertheless Foran OUT.
