  1. I think that’s the same for all championship clubs, we have a good starting 11 but once you need to regularly play the fringe players they’re typically pish.
  2. The only way for us to go up this season was winning the league. The injury crisis made that practically impossible. The play-offs were practically impossible too due to the huge fixture schedule. The injury crisis meant for several months we were having to regularly field players described by most of you as being bad signings or not at the required level - yet somehow you expected a team severely lacking in quality in your own words, that’s apparently not at the level, to win. The club clearly stated for months the bad run caused by injuries would ease once the players returned, they were right. I have argued from the beginning that this season the biggest problem was injures and that was proved correct. We were joint top in October, slipped, bounced back but unfortunately came up a few points short. Is anyone seriously going to argue injuries weren’t the biggest issue? There’s clearly evidence to suggest it was. The second biggest issue for me and it’s something Dodds and Robertson are culpable for is recruitment. I think if we’d signed better the injury crisis would’ve been far less impactful and therefore we’d have been challenging. This next season is absolutely crucial. People can argue Dodds cost us X points against Hamilton for example and that’s fair enough, we could go through individual errors and see how much that cost us too. There’s a multitude of reasons. However, these weren’t the main issues - injuries and recruitment were.
  3. Congratulations Ayr see you next season. I am not angry, my fists are not clenched, my eyes are not watery.
  4. Thought at the match a few weeks ago he looked overly friendly with their players at the handshakes, patting him on the back, shame.
  5. Dodds is looking to retain Henderson and Daniel Mackay next season. Henderson is obvious but personally I’d prefer bringing in Logan Chalmers on the left over Mackay, or just play Shaw there. I’d take him as a squad player, not sure he’s shown the consistency throughout the season to merit a starting spot.
  6. Billy Dodds (magnificent soccer man and cup final icon) is now contracted for next season!
  7. I’m guessing nobody on this was at the AGM but if anyone was it would be good to hear what was shared in regards to this.
  8. Sutherland played pretty well in a similar position at times last season but he’s injured. I think we’re trying to Sutherland Nathan Shaw to some extent, probably because the others can’t contribute to scoring a goal more than rarely. I think he’s better out wide but currently he’s probably best at playing the 10.
  9. Let’s be honest you’re a yo-yo club at present and I don’t expect that to change next season, some clubs like Dundee just don’t have that taste for success and standards, certainly not in recent times unless I’m missing something. Whereas The Caley are a club who don’t merely have a taste for it, we are simply cooking in success and standards in our short history, we’ve another trip to Hampden next week for example.
  10. Based on the fact Dundee have been relegated in their last 2 top flight seasons.
  11. If Dundee go up it’s quite obvious they’ll drop straight back down again, sadly!
  12. A draw was probably fair enough with both teams having few decent chances. Nevertheless, I am glad we’ve played our part in setting up a final day Nightmare On Nelms Street.
  13. Last nights victory extends our winning streak to 6 league matches, surpassing the previous streak of 5 set in September / October, pre injury crisis. MAGNIFICENT.
  14. I think he’s been poor Sandy but saying it was evident he didn’t want to be here from the beginning is ridiculous, there’s nothing to back up that claim, in fact it’s quite the opposite if you take into account he actually started the season relatively well.
  15. It’s Henderson for me if he can maintain the same level throughout his half season spell.
  16. Samuels looking lively in the final 20 or so minutes I caught there, Dan Mackay slightly anonymous again
  17. I’m actually not, it’s just sad to see what appears to be a small group of folk blinded by anger causing them to misconstrue posts. I had to nip it in the bud. Nevertheless you boys really should apologise to a great man!
  18. @SandyCromarty accused me of being close to the core and an employee of the club. @TheScarf suggested I out myself as Billy Dodds’ son. @Highland Capital and his alleged burner account the ghost of bdu accused me of being a happy clapper. Let’s get this straight, suggesting injuries were the biggest problem for us this season is in NO way a defence of Billy Dodds. I have never seriously suggested he’s a good manager, never suggested he should get a new contract and never said he’s the best option currently or going forward. I have criticised him when I felt necessary. Although I don’t come on here a seething mess constantly crying for Dodds out, that doesn’t mean I’m Dodds in. (I would never suggest any of you are seething blubbering messes - that’s unsaid) I think rather than misconstruing my posts when there was no reason to do so, you should apologise to the fantastic and knowledgeable NorthStand10!
  19. I personally don’t think we have the best squad or the best manager, furthermore we don’t have the largest budget as I’ve already explained. The minimum target should be and is to make the play offs. I think in regards to winning the league could we have won it? Yes. Should we have won it? No.
  20. I agree we should be up there challenging. I disagree with @TheScarf though, there is no we should be going up this season about it.
  21. We don’t have the best squad, we don’t have the best manager, we don’t have the largest budget (4th largest possibly?) so no, while we’d love to win the title there is no SHOULD about it.
