  1. The 2021 summer window was good for Championship level. You can really see the drop off subsequently though, I assume it’s largely a budgetary issue this season.
  2. I heard Dundee United were looking at recalling Logan Chalmers in January, any truth in that?
  3. I don’t know how long we’re going to persist with this system but I suspect it’s largely causing his poor form. I think he’s best wide left, similar to last season. This formation is so defensive he’s practically a right central midfielder for much of the game. I agree on Billy too, he’s dropping deep but then we’ve nothing in the box. That summed the second half up yesterday. Mr Dunc’s remit is to avoid relegation and we’re playing like it.
  4. I don’t think we can criticise Morton playing for a draw when we started 5 defenders in a home match. This formation is useful during away matches or against top end teams. It’s particularly unthreatening when a team sits in against us and we did nothing to change that. I think we’re content avoiding defeat until the window opens. A draw was fair enough today imo.
  5. I heard recently we’re punting him, I presume in January. The majority of our trialists are foreign also.
  6. I think excluding the addition of Wotherspoon the biggest difference is these players are actually playing for this manager. I still think the team’s poor and recent results + performance suggest that. I agree we’ve a big window ahead, I think additions like Wotherspoon and Scott Allan a couple of years back thankfully show it doesn’t take major changes to launch a championship team up the table.
  7. Slightly concerned with how Morton have out-worked us in the second half and credit to them for that. Nevertheless, a terrible match whenever the ball wasn’t out for a towel wipe and throw in.
  8. It’s the fact you’re probably not joking, blaming a manager who left three fucking months ago Nevertheless a game of two halves, sore one to take but easier games to come and the transfer window.
  9. Doran has missed around 52 league matches since relegation and IIRC around 2018 I read on Transfermarkt he was injured for 850+ days in the premiership. No idea how that translates to matches missed.
  10. Billy Dodds is responsible for an unknown percentage of those bad signings but he’s obviously not blameless. John Robertson is the Sporting Director, it’s literally his job to oversee transfers.
  11. We have until the end of the month apparently. We could really do with some wingers and pace imo.
  12. The makings of a good team?? We don’t come higher than 7th without signings in January you absolute maniac.
  13. I appreciate there was an obsession around the former management team from some but hopefully todays result makes the obsessed aware we have other large problems. The weeds removed, but the roots remain.
  14. @SandyCromarty should provide us proof he’s purchased a season ticket. Do it wee man.
  15. What’s the story with Jay Henderson barely featuring in the league so far? I appreciate its early days but I’m surprised how little he’s played. He was great for us, even against premiership opposition.
  16. I have been told Dodds has said his goodbyes to the players. I can’t see it being true though.
  17. A good performance from both debutants, aggression and fight which is exactly what we needed. Unfortunately, Anderson appeared to go off injured. How none of the coaching staff noticed he was fatigued about 15/20 minutes before going off I will never know, absolutely fucking atrocious from them.
  18. I am not contesting any of your views but aren’t they slightly contradictory? which @sophia has alluded to. The squad was factually not good enough to win the title or reach the play offs under Robertson or McCann in 2020/2021. (5th place) The next season, Dodds’ recruitment was apparently terrible. How does a squad that is factually NOT good enough….sign more players that are NOT good enough….suddenly become good enough??
  19. The thing is we do have a lack of money. The squad appears under funded compared to the last couple of seasons and unfortunately that issue will negatively impact the next manager too. I think this squad comes 7th at best. Although, I suspect we will need a different manager to get us there. PS: I would recommend you acknowledge we did have an injury crisis and we do have a lack of money. Those excuses and Dodds being a bad manager can all be true at the same time.
