  1. The first half was dreadful and the second half was excellent. I won’t go into detail regarding the match as other folk already have. The contrast in performance really should give us a clear indication of who / what we need going forward. My slight concerns were Davidson who hopefully just needs time and Devine, who frankly looks like the Devine of old without Deas and Broadfoot next to him. Special mention to Bray who I thought was excellent at only 17. I shouldn’t compare young players (especially after 1 match) but if that’s his natural position (?) then I do wonder where it leaves Hyde. Probably Elgin.
  2. It was argued by some, including by someone on the podcast, that SS was one of the best performers early on that season. I think it was Gardyne, but SS was up there. That doesn’t suit your argument he wasn’t good enough, does it?
  3. Shane Sutherland was arguably our best player at the beginning of 21/22. Then for a couple of months his form dipped along with the team - that’s when you decided he wasn’t good enough and posted. Afterwards he kicked on again. Don’t act like he was shite up until your post, he wasn’t. As for Harper we all know he improved. Unfortunately, your post claiming he was absolutely fucking shite 10 months ago was wrong.
  4. We’d been playing for 6 months in regards to Shane. How long did you need to realise he’s good? Like I said, you’re incredibly slow to recognise a good player. Also, was Cameron Harper absolutely fucking shite in September? No. Your judgement whether it be initial opinion or longer term is dreadful, proven by your posts. I would also like to commend @Central Belt Caley for putting up a good argument. It’s just a real shame @TheScarf always fails to do so. TBF stating Brad McKay was better than Rooney didn’t set you off on the best footing.
  5. He said Shane Sutherland wasn’t good enough shortly before the season ended, he then won a player of the year award. How long did he want to realise Shane was good? Dreadful shout. He said Harper was absolutely fucking shite at left back. Absolutely fucking shite to then winning a player of the season award? Dreadful call again. What’s Deas got to do with thescarf incorrectly calling someone shite? Different seasons too. It also doesn’t mean Harpers absolutely fucking shite, it just means Deas was better. Give the boys a chance folks.
  6. So are you just incredibly slow to notice they’re good players? I remember listening to TWS podcast when one of them said Shaun Rooney wasn’t doing enough going forward in his final season midway through it - was that you?
  7. I mentioned earlier we should give new players time before writing them off. I would suggest @TheScarf doesn’t share his thoughts on any player, new or old. Shane Sutherland won Players Player of The Year and Cameron Harper won Players Young Player of The Year in the seasons he posted these. Didn’t you also describe Colin Seedorf as strolling it? I have no need to insult you. Thanks for coming.
  8. My point is proven - we must give players time before writing them off. I could give more examples if you like? You’ve dropped some clangers pal
  9. I wasn’t given a name of the Aberdeen player we are apparently looking at but I suspect it could be Connor McLennan. I’m aware he’s a free agent now.
  10. I’ve had it confirmed Billy McKays contract is a 1 year deal with an option for a second season. If he plays more than 20 matches then it’s the players decision in regards to triggering the extension and he isn’t earning more money.
  11. I thought you weren’t coming back? I am happy to see you’ve had a change of heart, welcome back.
  12. I forgot to mention Shane Sutherland was in the home end yesterday which was somewhat surprising.
  13. I was impressed with Thompson today having not seen much of him. I have to say the striker on trial didn’t impress me with his positioning or effort but we’ll see how he gets on against Nairn. Finally, although he’s been consistent I have a suspicion without Deas and Broadfoot next to him we might see the old Devine return. Standard pre season match.
  14. Apparently we are set to sign Celtic B player Adam Brooks, possibly today. 0.92 goals per 90 in the Lowland League last season.
  15. He’s tidy enough on the ball, works hard and has decent enough pace. I agree he occasionally holds it too long and his big issue is his final product. I’ll go against the grain here and say it wouldn’t surprise me if he does fine, especially on a tight pitch.
  16. I want you camped out in the bushes over at Fort George confirming you’ve seen him
  17. Some of the people pushing the rumours have proven quite unreliable. I don’t see any harm in wanting slightly more solid evidence other than hearsay.
  18. I suspect there’s a clause or option in there for the second year, the wording likely wasn’t a mistake. Also, the club weren’t against a two year contract, they just wanted the salary reduced. It’s just pure speculation to say Billy won.
  19. The club wanted reduced wages in the second year of the deal which is sensible.
  20. All credit to the club for sticking to their guns and getting exactly what they wanted, good business for once.
  21. That’s Billy McKay staying at the Highlands biggest club, commiserations!
  22. The majority of teams that had perceived success in the championship like County, Arbroath, Livi, Killie and even Morton last season have absolutely murdered their way to it. We often try to play football and then revert to long balls because we can’t break down packed defences. It’s about time we sign players that can break down defences no matter how unattractive it is. We’re too soft, get the murderous 2 up top Doddsball going imo.
