  1. Surely it'll be Gunn, Clark and Gordon? Clark ahead of Gordon at Hearts. Absolutely nae chance Kelly gets near the squad on current form.
  2. Tried to look at the positives as often as possible this season, so despite being a bit pissed off with the last couple of results I'd rather get back to that. Absolutely delighted for Bair, still cannot quite believe the pelters he has taken from some, he's arguably been our most consistent performer this season. That's him joint third top scorer in the league and only three goals behind Miovski, who has been talked up for a huge money move. The guy has been excellent for us, the management have taken a fair amount of stick in recent days, rightly so for some things, but credit where credit's due for seeing the player there, when it seemed like nobody else did. And massive credit to Bair for continuing to prove folk wrong.
  3. Do see where you're coming from, I just think Kettlewell has already shown he doesn't typically admit when he's got it wrong and hasn't done enough to allow us to change our approach, ie signing no wingers and about 40 full-backs. Last two performances, and results, have been completely on him and his inability to change things.
  4. Fully aware of our position in the league. Hardly pretending it's open and shut, I just said we have an opportunity to change things when CEO. I've been fairly consistent in that and have also stated that I don't see the point in us binning him while the season is ongoing. I've backed Kettlewell a lot, particularly during the run without a win. I wouldnt at all say he's been a disaster, but he's shown he's not as good of a manager as he thinks he is, not even close. I think a handshake and a new direction at the end of the season might be best for all involved and I don't think I'm alone in that.
  5. Team of absolute bottle merchants. Let's not pretend anyone would have grumbled at a point before a ball was kicked, but the levels of shitebaggery in this current team are off the charts.
  6. Kettlewell's contract absolutely should not be renewed in the summer. Don't understand why folk would keep him, or feel we owe him some sort of deal? We've an ideal opportunity to get rid when we change the CEO.
  7. The team on the whole are pathetic at the moment, Kelly looks nervy as f**k and I can't imagine is having a calming influence on those in front of him. As soon as they got one, we could all see this coming.
  8. Nobody can convince we that Kelly is any good. Fucking brutal.
  9. Everything about this is top notch. - 3-0 win from three shots - Another top Joe Lewis vs Motherwell display - Long's fingers in the ears to no crowd - that absolutely cracking away kit, we should just re-release that to make up for nobody being there the season we wore it
  10. I'm sure he is decent in training aye, but for me it's more that he has been good previously, so perhaps a case of sticking with him in the hope that form returns. He's been rotten this season though. I don't think there is any conspiracy to it either. We've not seen enough from Oxborough to know if he'd actually be any better, so not really sure I'm on board with the calls for him to be our number 1 now.
  11. Judging by Kettlewell's comments today, there's absolutely nae chance Kelly gets dropped. "He's a consistent performer for this football club", I suppose you could argue that's not an incorrect statement... All for managers defending players, but Kelly literally has a save percentage of 43% this season, and is one of our higher earners, he's not been good enough for a while now. First goal on Friday was laughably bad, if it was a one off folk would be giving him the benefit of the doubt.
  12. I would agree that we seem to have a bit of a mentality block, compared to other similar sized/smaller teams, but have no idea if the stats actually back that up. Weird feeling since Friday's match, obviously really disappointed with the performance and result, although as others have said it had no feeling of surprise or shock. Also, while I've defended him and at times genuinely felt sorry for him, given the hand he's been dealt, I think I'm done with Kettlewell now. I mean that in the sense that I wouldn't bin him now, seriously don't see the point of that, said before I think he'll probably keep us up. But would back a new CEO coming in and deciding to go in another direction. We all know Kettlewell likes the sound of his own voice, but some of his pre-match stuff really wound me up last week, felt he was overly confident after one really decent result. Also can't say I'm a fan of him having to tell folk how humble he is all the time. We should have said "thanks and all the best" to Alexander at the end of the 2021/22 season, this has a similar feel to it for me.
  13. Only Vale and Halliday get pass marks. Devine put a good ball in which led to the goal, showed a bit of quality there. At the game I was getting frustrated with the wing-backs refusing to run at their full-backs, but given every one of our four options didn't do it then it was clearly a tactical choice. Morton figured us out quickly and Kettlewell did absolutely nothing to change the approach for the majority of the game, then just did his usual of chucking on every striker at the death and hoping for the best. Really was grim.
  14. There's genuinely no excuse for that level of performance. Outplayed and outfought by a team from a lower league that didn't even have to play well on the night. Buzzing so many of this absolute gang are out of contract soon. Only a few more months of suffering Liam Kelly, folks. Kettlewell will probably keep us up, whoever the CEO is then should shake his hand and say goodbye after that.
  15. Shaw is pretty pish at fitba, but we've had plenty of folk over the years who are pretty pish at fitba. We are light up top, he's not going to be a first pick I wouldn't expect. Would I have re-signed him? Probably not. But I'd expect the agreement was that we were trying to get someone else (Eg KvV) but if we failed to do so we'd take him back on reduced terms. So we are where we are. Also, I can't imagine many players, unattached or otherwise, are going to be jumping through hoops to become our third or fourth choice striker.
  16. The "appeal" thing is all to do with Barnsley submitting a form to the FA before the deadline to allow a bit more time to get the deal finished. We are certainly spinning it that he was only back down for treatment, don't think that was the case. The loan was originally cancelled and we are paying less this time from what I heard. Edit: just checked and the original statement said the loan was terminated. This new story doesn't specify that it's a new loan deal but I think that's the case.
  17. Sorry, he's as fit as Obika gets. So officially "doubtful".
  18. My point is more that before he kicked a ball for us certain Motherwell fans had made up their minds about him based on St Johnstone reviews. I tend to go for the 'let's see how he does for us first' approach, given there are so many factors that can impact how someone plays. Not having a pop at you or your fellow fans, I realise he never kicked on for you. St Johnstone just happened to be the example on this occasion, think in Scottish football there is often a trend that players are quickly written off just because fans of other teams have said they weren't up to much. I'm sure Saints have had that on occasion? The Tommy Wright comment was more a wee bit tongue in cheek about everyone's favourite Courier columnist. If you've followed it here, even when Bair was playing well, folk in the Well support were still determined to talk him down in the most hyperbolic fashion. Thought that was ridiculous and didn't really understand why this narrative was continuing, despite his good form.
  19. Not jumping to Kettlewell's defence here, but I think ahead of the Dundee game (first game of the season) he was already talking up Bair and that he felt he'd seen something other managers hadn't in him. Media around Bair is frankly fucking ridiculous, fair play to him for just ignoring it. Bair deserves all the praise coming his way, he has been superb for us this season despite what some folk have claimed. Wondering if these same people reckon we should have brought Tommy Wright in when he was linked, given the high esteem they seem to hold the opinions of St Johnstone fans in...
  20. I'll never criticise his ability to bring in players, made so many great signings for us. Awk maybe you're right though, but his absolute weirdo behaviour certainly didn't do him any favours and most players who have worked under him canny stand him for that.
  21. I think the idea that Gannon could be a good manager is, and always has been, an absolute myth. Decent scout though! Alexander, certainly talks a good game but he's too invested in the hustle of getting pay offs.
