  1. Sounds about right. Bair is the latest example of folk making their minds up before he'd even kicked a ball for us and deciding they won't budge from that position because it would mean they have to accept they were wrong, it's bizarre. Anyone who thinks Bair is "shite" is basing it purely on his St Johnstone spell, or from what they've heard of it, and not what he's done as a Motherwell player.
  2. Convinced there are folk in the Motherwell fansbase who thrive off of misery, negative stance at every opportunity. Players written off after 20 minutes, managers to be sacked after a couple of shite results, Well Society labelled as a failure with not much to back it up, but also any new investors not to be trusted and not the direction either, even when results are going well it's still not good enough. Get a buzz out of being the most negative, energy sapping person in the room. For the What We Do In The Shadows fans, a bunch of Colin Robinsons (although at least he has good patter).
  3. Fair play to Mandron, I must admit I didn't see a player there for us but seems to really fit that Robinson system and, by all accounts, is having a great season (haven't really seen much of him, games against us aside).
  4. Highly doubt we'll win the appeal, but I suppose you canny really have the public reaction to the decision the football club has had and then not bother
  5. While I don't think it was a red, I also don't really get the reaction. Interesting to hear Kettlewell and some of the players saying the referee's attitude was absolutely stinking all day, so perhaps it's the flash point in an overly frustrating game. Feels like this is a wider issue, rather than just one decision.
  6. FWIW, I don't think Kelly was bad today, actually made some good stops. Find it absolutely hilarious (in a if you don't laugh you'll cry way) that he's the 13th best keeper in the division though. The red card? I didn't think it was at the time and still don't think it is now. A foul and a yellow for Vale would have been correct imo. The refereeing across the SPFL is particularly chronic at the moment. I actually thought we were pretty comfortable in the game until the red card. I'm a fan of Spittal but it's now becoming a waste of time playing him, he's away and couldn't look less interested. I know we're pretty much safe, but let's just win next week eh? We're a very bizarre team, when we're good we're really good, but when we are off it we make the wildest, most basic level errors and go into complete panic mode. Also quite hard to believe that we've not been able to beat the worst Aberdeen team in years, given how well we've generally done against some of the better sides they've had in recent years.
  7. Being 13th in the goalkeeper table, in a league of 12, is massively on brand for Liam Kelly.
  8. I'm very much not looking forward to another season of Andy Halliday.
  9. VAR being useless, Motherwell conceding directly from a corner, death and taxes.
  10. Find this hard to watch, the attack by Langfield on Sutton is sickening.
  11. Tbf to Kelly, he'd be decent in the Championship for sure.
  12. Not to read too much into it, but I think Kelly said something about finishing strongly and preparing for next season post Hibs. Might just be fitballer chat but while we're speculating...
  13. Really didn't mean for it to come across as harsh, I don't think it's unfair to suggest that in the breakthrough season Turnbull probably wasn't down to be a regular starter at the start of the campaign. He and Hastie were outstanding when they came in, but circumstances dictated that we had to rely on them for creativity, that's what i was getting at with the happy accident description, Turnbull in particular was clearly intended to be part of the squad (ie not out on loan) but I think he became far more important than what was first intended. Fair play and well done to Robinson for going with them though, rather than trying to find some free agent jobbers.
  14. My thoughts too, as much as Robinson was a decent manager for us, the Turnbull/ Hastie (I know) breakthroughs were by (happy) accident and not design imo. Worked out well, particularly in the case of Turnbull, but I don't think Robbo intended to chuck either in for extended periods that season.
  15. Staggered it's even got to the consideration stage if that's true. Without sounding like a broken record, this whole saga hasn't been handled particularly well, the whole "it's not about selling the club" to "hmmm, would you maybe sell the club?" moving of the goalposts from the departing heeds hasn't helped. I worry they've completely undervalued the club here.
  16. Are you sure it wasn't ear wax flogging a Jacob Blyth removal tool?
  17. Think you're right but I'm sure someone suggested it was basically that team buying out his contract, rather than a profit.
  18. Moult left after Johnson too, we paid a small amount for him and sold him on.
  19. Said it before, even when Bair wasn't scoring for us he's been key to our better performances this season, win at Hearts early doors for example. He's been great for us and his numbers are now backing up his early season graft. Voted him for POTY, hopefully he gets it, would be absolutely deserved.
  20. Buckled at the levels of scrutiny Bair has had compared to other Motherwell strikers over the years. We'll likely never sign complete players and he's been dynamite. Bair is also close to bettering Louis Moult's best ever league scoring season for us.
  21. Here, we absolutely broke Rangers with that win at Ibrox eh? They'd won 9 on the bounce in the league before that game and since we beat them have won once in the league. Oh, and they keep talking about it
