  1. I'm just glad that, no matter how many goals they've chucked in from him, we're all in agreement that Hearts'* Blair Spittal canny win this. Outstanding all * to be officially confirmed.
  2. I look forward to Eric Nicholson's extra weird column after Theo knocks in a hat-trick on the final day.
  3. I think we'll be absolutely fine, but aye a wee win first game after the split would be ideal.
  4. FWIW I think we'll offer both SOD and McGinn another year. I'd imagine Bevis will be heading for the exit, along with Butcher, Obika, Maguire and Callan Elliott. There will probably be more exits, given the number of contracts that are up, who knows what will happen with Kelly, I'd expect us to try and keep Slattery.
  5. I thought Kelly had one of his better games of the season today, aye. Couple of smart saves and didn't look terrified whenever a cross came in. Also his passing was actually pretty good too.
  6. I'm not angry, just disappointed. On Shaw, had he scored I fear Kettlewell may have gone down the route of "see I told you he was a player" and we would have somehow ended up with him back here next season...
  7. And the rest of the team have cost us goals and points throughout the season. FWIW I think Oli Shaw is fucking brutal at football, but he alone is not the reason we're bottom six. Behave.
  8. Dundee got a point, so zero? Equaliser was some laugh. No a great game all in. Says it all about the standard of the game when Kelly was probably one of the best passers today. No sure how Shaw missed that, looker easier to score.
  9. Equaliser was some laugh, halted the Hibs chorus of Twist and Shout beautifully.
  10. Canny wait for Eric Nicholson's weird column after Theo wins it.
  11. Have the same concerns too, said previously I thought voting to say majority could be an option wasn't the best approach, even in a hypothetical situation. Saying no to losing control would have chased away anyone looking for the whole club, either now or further down the line. We'll see what happens soon I suppose, but interesting bit of chat nonetheless.
  12. Think that's a fair assessment, can only go on what the guy is saying at the moment, we'll get more info soon enough. As I said previously, investment would be class as long as we don't give away the club just to make sure it happens. Has to be right for the club, infrastructure going forward and community.
  13. He obviously can't go into too much detail at the moment, but so far Erik Barmarck is coming across pretty well. Always been a supporter of investment if it's right for the club and he seems to be really keen on Well Society involvement, championing the fan and community stuff in that BBC interview. Interesting times.
  14. Anyone going into this without a degree of scepticism hasn't been paying attention to Scottish football over the years. Investment could be great, would be more than welcomed if the terms of it are best for the club, infrastructure and community going forward. Important to keep an open mind and consider what folk are willing to bring to the table. Some of the rhetoric around this seems to be that we are desperate for investment, I'm not sure that's the case. When the image is painted that clubs really need investment, that's when to be most vigilant of anyone coming in making promises.
  15. I've already said I'm a bit sceptical of this and while I would like investment in the club, it shouldn't be a case of giving it all, or a huge share, away for short-term gains. At the risk of repeating myself, and ignoring the other cringe issues, I was really disappointed that the campaign/video was all about investing in the fan ownership model, then the goalposts were moved to "oh, would you maybe sell the club?". But folk losing their minds at the "vagueness" of this is some laugh. They literally canny say anything else at this point, they've said updates will be provided as it moves. Folk should/will know the full details before it goes to a vote, especially if the Well Society (the majority shareholder) puts it to a members vote, which judging by their statement will happen.
  16. Anyone else got the fear we'll end up giving away a huge chunk of the club here? If the terms are good and the investment matches it then fair play, but previous chat was that the investment offered wasnt up to much.
  17. Think this is pretty much it, Kettlewell can frustrate with his decisions, or lack of decisions, but he's done pretty well all things considered this season. Without going over old ground that we shouldn't have re-signed him, I had the feeling yesterday he'd have liked to have had Obika (Hamstring) as an option to come on and go more direct with Bair, but didn't feel the other attacking options on the bench could do that job. I do think Kettlewell, in general, waits a bit too long to try and win games by making in-game changes. But as far as strengths go, the guy clearly knows how to get the most/best out of players, examples across the team this season and last of this. I really, really wish we'd learn how to defend set pieces. As soon as we conceded that ridiculous corner yesterday, ye knew we'd end up losing a goal from it, and it's really basic stuff. The defence really needs an overhaul, which I'd fully expect to happen in the summer, given the contract situations. On that subject, I don't really know what Blaney has to do to get a run. Outstanding at Ibrox, then dropped. Looked solid enough yesterday when he came on too. Seems like others can have absolute horror shows, repeatedly, and retain their place.
  18. That was an atrocious game of football. Lack of composure in this team is frightening at times, so glad we have Lennon Miller to bring that to the side. SODs was good, Davor was decent enough, Gent was decent for the most part too. Devine hasn't impressed me at all. Halliday was absolutely honking. Spittal had the look of someone really, really trying to show they are still committed but making all the wrong decisions, shooting from that free-kick from about 40-yards in the first half for example. Anyway, a point's a point and results sort of went our way elsewhere.
  19. I don't really follow the EPL or EFL, but part of my football podcast rotation is the Guardian football weekly, the recent EFL round-up podcast (last week I think) covered the current state of finances in the lower leagues down there. Just in case anyone is vaguely interested and doesn't fancy reading through a bunch of accounts. Basically all about EFL clubs, across the leagues, overspending to ridiculous levels to try and get to the EPL or move up leagues. There was a mad stat like 125% of the turnover of English championship clubs is spent on wages.
