  1. Fantastic result for Alloa great to see Roberts and Roberston with important goals. Hamilton have a good squad on paper but cannot get going at all. Makes you wonder if we had Andy in sooner and packed away the sleeping bags v falkirk, the season could've been very different. But it is what it is let's keep it going Alloa. Come on!
  2. Brian is a good guy, didn't really get fair shake at managment with Clyde - no backing and no funds. Perhaps supporting his old team mate Kurtis.
  3. Alloa looked better again today, more urgency and pressure when Queen's had the ball, missed that this season so far. I'd say it was a fair outcome although if Queen's had brought their shooting boots they could have levelled it in the second half or even taken the lead the first half but for an excellent low save by Morrison. Kurtis Roberts put in another very impressive shift today but Roy stole the show with his history making finish.
  4. Another excellent round up on the podcast, insightful as ever. Really hope the fans turnout again on Saturday with the same gusto as at forthbank, the players seemed to respond to the support. The defence was solid, the midfield were buzzing and full of energy and the strikers caused no end of upset for the binos defence. Got to hand it to QOS for their performance vs falkirk one of the few teams to get anything from them this season. Of the 5 fixtures highlighted last week I'd have this marked as a potential draw but if both teams go toe to toe this is a chance to see the best of both teams, would love a wee home win.
  5. As pointed out in the excellent podcast, the next 5 games are paramount to really set the season on the right path. 9/10 points and the 4th round would be a massive boost and might just mean we take confidence into the games against the "big two" at the top, although we did turn up for the Hamilton game. There are issues all over the pitch but the defence have been caught for everything so far, Rice's philosophy is fairly sound in theory "match or better your opponent" but in practice our 3 tall, imposing centre backs have not been the formidable prospect they seemed on paper. We need to keep it simple and clear our lines then we can look at playing out from the back. Looking forward to see what line up the gaffer goes with tomorrow and what kind of reaction we get from the players.
  6. Belter of a game potentially, both sides looking to steady the ship. Foir play to the binos this season sticking by the players that brought them up, a settled and reliable team despite the recent losing run they would be looking to have consolidation secure by early 2024. Alloa on the other hand need vast improvement, the defence likely to have a few gifts lined up for the opposition be it penalties or the odd goal etc. Yet to really get anything away from home either. But no better time than now to start a much needed winning run A goal scoring draw or a narrow binos victory the most likely outcome for now.
  7. Fair point, but no loyalty to any other club has been expressed. As much as the performances have merited such a reaction drink isn't the answer. A coach solely focussed on the club, adapting tactics each week to give his team the best chance of winning would be a start persisting with the same one size fits all tactics and approach hasn't done us much good at all for the past several weeks. The new additions up front seem OK but the defence needs major surgery. Would like to hear more from the players as well. If Rice turns it around and we start stringing the performances and results together then I'm happy to change my tune.
  8. I never said it did, you're the one who made a misfiring attempt to bring them into it. If you're down to accessing patter at this point so I'd leave it there. You have nothing of substance to offer.
  9. And I'm supposed to care about your misguided interpretation and accusations dresed up just to have a dig? Jog on. Rice's past personal problems aside which I'm glad to see he is over and are in the past but for the time a Falkirk fan decided to bring it up in an abusive fashion. Does not take away from poor preparation and evidential lack of fight and dig in games this season.
  10. No but his comments and demeanour aren't convincing. Of course they should have their individual motivation with the greatest of respect the evidence was thin on the ground, Happy for them to prove me wrong in future.
  11. If the result had been the other way round I'd stick to my teams page to celebrate rather than risk the temptation to even appear as gloating on the opposing fans page. There is such a thing as grace in victory. Something I displayed to a falkirk fan at the depths of their troubles in 21/22. Instead I chose to encourage and rother than stick salt in the wound. So it's not about inaccuracy. Alloa fans are well aware of the teams challenges this season and our manager has said in at least one interview that falkirk are his team that and the fact he possesses a distinct ability not to motivate his players for the game. Until he can prove otherwise it's not based on sour grapes when I quote him directly.
  12. Falkirk should've had so much more saved in the bank 100k in the red the killers wont save you. Alloa have no doubt done their bit to help falkirk we gave them their best player and they turn round and talk nonsense. I used to not mind falkirk but the fans are devoid of class. Alloa need to improve and stop taking rice's instructions to lay down for "his"team
