  1. Totally agree with the Gillespie point, he was and has been honking. He looks Miles off it. However, pretty harsh on Raith that I’d say. There is a reason they are 2nd in the league. You only need to look at tonight to see the difference. We are toothless up front, far too passive in midfield and concede very cheap goals. In comparison to Raith who took their chances that came, looked like scoring every time they countered against us and when asked to dig in they had literal bodies on the line to clear anything we did throw at them. All attributes we have been missing since the season began in August.
  2. Thought Thistle more than merited their win today. We started the game brightly and took a deserved lead and probably should have capitalised on it. At the time I thought Milne was lucky not to see red for the free kick which lead to the goal? Will need to see it back. Today again highlighted the need for an actual natural right back. Embarrassing we are now 8 weeks into the competitive season and haven’t sorted that out yet. Last 30 minutes were a total disaster though and thistle picked us off without having to really work for anything. I thought the young kid Stanway was outstanding today and won’t be surprised if a bigger team takes a punt on him in January if he can remain consistent. Recruitments are essential or we are in for a long long season.
  3. anyone any idea or heard how ticket sales are going for Saturday? Would be great to sell out our allocation.
  4. really really strange that Raith fans seem rattled by us considering they won the game . Before having a go at the opposing team try looking at your own players first. Lewis Vaughan with the most blatant act of cheating I’ve seen in a while. Complete dive.
  5. Mullen out injured apparently. Looks like we are aiming to bring in Jamie McDonald. We actually need to or we are humped
  6. Any idea if Lewis Strapp is still kicking about on trial with you lot? Have heard very little about him since he left us.
  7. Agreed. Looked very comfortable until we went down to 10 men. Hope Baird injury isn’t too bad and was taken off as just a precaution. That being said we are desperately light in numbers and tonight highlighted the immediate need for a right back. O’Connor did fine again however with Baird injured we need him in the middle with broadfoot.
  8. Really enjoyable day out today (minus the period between 3pm-3:45pm) a social club inside the ground aswell which sold drink at half time was a cracking bonus after such a dismal first half display. Much improved second half after we brought on 2 natural wide men. As much as I like oakley I can’t help but feel him and muirhead cannot play in the same team. delighted for Boyd to get off the mark as that will only give him confidence going forward. O’Connor put in a hell of a shift at right back and showed great composure for his 2 assists which could easily have been lashed across the face of goal. Still fancy him more as a centre back though. Bearne showed glimpses when he came on and has potential to be a real asset. Good 3 points on the road and we should now be looking at an absolute bare minimum 9 points. Looking forward to Tuesday now in another must win game.
  9. think you have maybe had 1 or 2 many pints and gone emotional sir.
  10. can’t look too much into pre season but I thought we looked really organised against a pretty much full strength st mirren side. O’Connor adapted well at right back, but has to be starting centre back for me during the season. It’s his standout position. Feared the worst when we made all the changes tbh but it the extra energy actually benefited us against a very average st mirren side. Very impressed with Frankie Deane when he came on. Very composed on the ball and assist was outstanding. As for the cult hero Brandon. Not much to do but anything he did have to do he dealt with well. He seemed to love the occasion though and was pointing towards the badge at full time when the cowshed was in full voice.
  11. anyone got any idea how ticket sales are going on our end for the game on Saturday? Seen on twitter st mirren have sold 1400. Not sure about anyone else, but this just doesn’t have that derby game feel to it at the moment.
  12. Someone called Brandon diau has managed to get a trial with us by simply walking up to cappielow and asking for one. Played in the Welsh premier league last year and got relegated.
