  1. Some of our recent crowd splits have seemed honest for example v Stirling 762(131). Today's was an outright lie. Never seen so many empty seats for a league game. As for the game, one excellent Lewis Smith effort apart, we did nothing. Well done Falkirk, an amazing season and by far the best team in the league.
  2. A little unfair, it's not always pish. We have had four 5-0 wins and a 5-2. Losing at home to Annan and drawing with Edinburgh at a time when they were getting humped every week was inexcusable. Losing to a decent side like Alloa less so.
  3. Goal looked unlikely to be offside given O'Hara ran at speed from behind the last defender as the ball was crossed. Would've been a fine goal too. Taking off Smith just as he had started the half fairly well was odd, though I like Hastie. Rose didn't see much of the ball but why take off the man in the best form for goals? Barjonas second booking was a nonsense. Just a foul, play on. No way did that merit a second yellow. I think his first was missed by many but it seemed to be dissent so it's not as if the second one for persistent fouling. Had a feeling we wouldn't beat any team four times, even Queens with their aforementioned record against us. Hope they can avoid ninth, they should do.
  4. I now know what H.C. means. Hull City. Speculation there may be a tie up with them as they are also Turkish owned.
  5. I've no idea what H.C. means but I've heard their could be some L.F. money to come, which I find hard to believe but it's come from a director.
  6. Morton fans still brag about their team being briefly top of the league around 1979 though that was well into the season I believe. Bizarre you don't think we should boast about being, briefly, the best team in Scotland. We were top for several weeks. Someone asked how did we manage that? We lost our first game then won most of the next nine including 1-0 at Celtic and 4-0 at Motherwell.
  7. Where is the money coming from? Are you aware we sold four youngsters to Sheffield United, Norwich City, Forest and Leeds last summer. Fees weren't disclosed but we're generally thought to be around £40,000 to £50,000 with Ryan One's considerably more and one add-on should already have come through for him, having already made his first team debut at Arsenal. We got a decent amount from Lewis Ferguson's move to Italy and a bonus from Rotherham when Hakeem Odoffin helped to keep them up last season. I believe that one was fifty grand. All mounts up.
  8. And were top of the Premier after LOSING our eleventh game of the season. When were Falkirk last top of the pile? Our level since reconstruction in 1975 is clearly the second tier. We over- achieved and now we're under- achieving and many regulars are staying away. But congrats to Falkirk for an amazing season and finally getting out of this division.
  9. 30 years ago is 1994. Have they had a bigger crowd since then? Remember a top of the table clash with Dundee United around 1996 that might have been larger.
  10. We're now below Clyde for crowds. 701 compared to 619. I honestly don't blame fans for staying away especially if they don't have a season ticket. Admission should be reduced for every game from now on.
  11. Even though we won, that was almost a new low. They were by far the better team in the second half. To make it worse, not one of their players has a Wikipedia entry! Rankin is safe according to Serif after the match. Safe...a side that had no creativity and he left both Smith and Hastie on the bench. He is clueless. Sadly it seems Serif is too.
  12. I'd take Inverness, we have an amazing record up there.
  13. It's weird, the area around me at both recent games looked about normal, in fact yesterday looked far busier than some games where they've said the crowd was 1300 - 1400. I always doubted those figures were accurate anyway. I'm assuming the area nearest the away stand is down by about 100 or so but I can't see it from my seat and the recent highlights have been from the main stand so hard to confirm. We're supposed to have well over 800 season ticket holders and I thought most clubs figures included them whether they attended or not. Seemingly we don't do this but I thought we did when they gave the larger crowd figures. If that makes sense!
  14. Canning was in the top division and guided us to a 2-0 win at Ibrox, beating Hearts when they were top, 3-1 at Hibs, 4-0 v Dundee United, wins over Aberdeen and several derby wins. I wasn't his biggest fan but he doesn't half get a bad rap. This current joker shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath.
  15. Booing the team at half time was out of order. We must've had 80% of the play, hit the bar and came close a couple of times. Ok we huffed and puffed a bit. For Ian earlier to justify it with "Queen's could've been ahead", do you think we should dominate for the full match and the other team never gets near our goal? Some fans were so angry at 0-0 and it was the same earlier in the season down there at 1-1 with the team level with Falkirk. We dominated second half and got the goals we deserved. Not sure why Rankin changed formation when all that had happened was Lewis got a knock and had to go off. Invited them on us and they had their best spell. No failures today. Tumilty got a lot of stick but had a very good second half. Davidson had an assured debut and must surely keep his place ahead of the returning Williamson next week. Owens had another fine game, Jamie had three good saves and Lewis was lively but my MOTM was Kyle Macdonald and not just for his superb defence splitting pass for O'Hara's second. All round game, apart from one god awful shot, was excellent.
  16. We tried that years ago. Met with total apathy. So many cliques amongst fans of the same club. If it wasn't their friends doing it they weren't interested.
  17. Fido was at the vet's today, worst crowd of season apparently. Glad Dylan got the move he wanted. It was clear when he tried to knock out the ref with the ball v Kelty that he was working against us.
  18. The Clydesdale Bank books of the time will have colour head and shoulders shots of Alloa players, should be some on eBay.
  19. Met Office forecast is for it to be at freezing for kick off and -1 by six so the correct decision. I wonder if John Paterson's bit on Alba will ever be shown now.
  20. Newcastle, like Man Utd recently, win toss and make Liverpool hit the other way to their preferred ends. When was the last time anyone did this at Celtic Park or Ibrox? It almost never happens. It's almost like it's an unwritten rule. To answer my own question, I believe it was Motherwell in 21/22.
  21. Just a hunch I've got, (the doctor can't help), but I'll predict Morrison will sign for Salford City next month.
  22. First of all, a deserved win for Falkirk. Looked ominous from the first five minutes. However, we had no luck. Kilday in the warm up, then Scott Martin. If he got injured in his needless charge from goal then Fulton only has himself to blame. Penalty was a nonsense. How was he supposed to get out of the way? Morrison and Miller were the difference but Falkirk defended superbly in the second half. They had to, with that shite keeper. Very niggly game, 27 fouls but felt like more. No one was allowed to pass without a foul or an attempt at a foul, both sides. Lewis Smith clearly our best player, again; That Rankin left him on the bench for so long shows what a poor manager he is. I'd be delighted if he got sacked but sadly there is no chance if that happening. Good turnout of Accies fans. It was certainly a lot busier around where I sit but it will probably be back to 1200 or so next week.
  23. Abysmal is pretty harsh tbf when our last four league games have seen us win 5-0 twice and win with ten men at Annan.
