  1. With McCall it felt like anyone in the team could get us through a game. Not only with Geggan etc like you said, but even Shankland and Moffat could drag us through a game. E.g that home game vs Falkirk where we were 2-0 down at half time, second half started and Shankland became immense and pulled the game back pretty much single handedly for us. Here we do have a couple of leaders like McGinty, but I don't think it runs through the team enough to be as strong mentally.
  2. Did he not sign that p***k Zanatta to play up top, before he chucked it because he wanted to play out wide as he didn't like how Kerr played his striker. Kerr was out of his depth ultimately but some things didn't go his way that would've made him a far more successful manager if they went in his favour.
  3. It's possible, although unlikely, we would have stayed up under Kerr, but it was clearly the right decision at the time even if a significant chunk of the support thought it wasn't. He was on 1 win in 10 which is unacceptable for any manager, and I don't think we'd be in a better position now if he had stayed.
  4. At the end of the game with the game done Imrie was still out on the touchline giving instructions etc. Meanwhile I don't think I even heard Bullen once, albeit I was in the stand so I didn't have the best view. Don't think he even came out of his dugout in the second half
  5. Is this a hint or am I reading into this too much? Please don't get my hopes up.
  6. Smith has shown he's willing to act before. He sacked Kerr when not everyone wanted him gone, actually I think there were more people who thought Kerr should stay when he was sacked than there are who think Bullen should stay now. I don't think he'll go tonight/tomorrow but I think Smith will act if we lose on Saturday
  7. Have finally calmed down enough to somewhat gather my thoughts after that shite. Morton, or any other team around where we are, have a squad no better than ours on paper. Yet today we were completely outclassed and outfought by them. Against Raith we we had nothing to lose and let our forwards play with freedom we put out our best attacking display of the season, yet while watching Chalmers and Murphy today it feels like Bullen is sending them out with 1 arm tied behind their back through our tactics. Add that to the nonsense "play out from the back before either giving the ball away in your own half or launch it straight to their keeper" and it's clear to see that recent results and performances are on the manager and the way he sets up. Even if the squad is good enough to at least give other teams at our level half a game it still doesn't excuse the shambolic recruitment Mathie and Glendinning have overseen. Handing out 2 year deals to shite like Syla and Rose hoping that we'll strike gold again because we did it last season. Meanwhile every team that succeeds at this level, even ourselves when we could compete under McCall, did it by signing known quantities who knew the league, mixed in with the odd punt from elsewhere. I'm not saying we can't sign players from England, but we can't go about building our whole squad on these guys, as ultimately having a solid team on the park is what will get us to the Premiership, not a new stand or North Korean style propaganda videos. It's like building a house and making the foundations out of a mystery substance that could be better than concrete but could just as easily be weak as paper, instead of just going for fucking concrete in the first place. Now our builders may say that all the other builders are going for concrete too, so we should go for the mystery substance because there's more of it and its easier (and possibly cheaper) to get. But there's a reason why builders use concrete. It fucking works. If you want a solid house, you use concrete, even if it's difficult to get. Add this to the fact that the builders clearly don't have a clue and it's clear to see our grand project isn't happening with the current leadership. Rant over. Get Bullen Mathie Glendinning and all these jobbers from England out the door and get some people who have half a clue in the door asap. I hope you're reading this Smith
  8. As a manager I wouldn’t want him back, but would 100% take him in a director of football role in charge of recruitment instead of that fraud Glendinning. as for the game I’m far too raging to even try to summarise what happened today. Easily one of the most abject performances I’ve seen in recent years
  9. Airdrie 1-1 Inverness Arbroath 0-1 Dundee Utd Dunfermline 0-1 Raith Morton 2-1 Ayr Partick 2-0 QP
  10. The 2023 “year in review” the club have put out is nothing short of embarassing. Trying to spin utter shite like “Mark McKenzie makes his 100th appearance” and “we give out some medals to volunteers at half time every game” as positives
  11. I hope Bullen is bluffing with this chat about outgoings before anyone comes in. We need at least a centre back, a full back, and another option up top at minimum without any outgoings yet we're going to be relying on loans which could mean we're waiting another 8 weeks for re-enforcements while not actually shifting deadwood like Ecrepont, Smith, and McKenzie and instead replacing loanees who have been decent for us. Even if we can bring those players in I have no confidence that we'll get the right players in. Ideally we need an experienced centre back who is solid on the ball and can organise a defence, a full back who can actually hold his own 1 on 1 and link up with a winger, and a forward who can score goals and create chances because we're a loan recall and an injury away from staring down the barrel of relegation. I think I made a post a while ago showing that under the current regime we had a 40-50% success rate with signings so my hopes this January window aren't high at all

  13. Should hopefully be lining up a bit like this after January with Musonda away to AFCON. New centre back in and some attacking depth on the bench. Would much rather have Chalmers in behind the striker as it would give him a lot more freedom which suits his style of play, while Amartey and Murphy being far more direct on the wings would create more chances for Dowds. Also gives us the chance to allow the 3 behind Dowds to play fluidly as @Trogdor suggested.
  14. 3 goals in 4 games for Tommy Conway now at Bristol City. Regular with the U21s. Worth promoting him to the main squad for the March friendlies?
  15. Only if it's a team outwith Scotland as he's played for 2 clubs in Scotland already this season
  16. Honestly I don't think the ref was that bad last night. Both the penalty and the red card were marginal decisions, and having watched the highlights back he got the penalty claim in the first half correct. The real problem for clubs at our level is that due to VAR in the Premiership those games now require 2 refs instead of 1, which has resulted in no mark referees being promoted from League 1 and 2 who aren't up to the required standard to officiate at this level.
  17. I've said this before but Reading might recall him with the view of bringing him into their first team if they see he's doing well up here due to their situation.
  18. From where I was tonight it looked like Stanton dislocated his shoulder, so not looking good for him. As for the match it’s obviously tough to take that at the last minute but the players can be proud of themselves tonight. Senga was absolutely immense at the back while Ahui was solid too. Keep playing like that and add some quality in January and we should be well clear of any danger.
  19. Queens Park 0-4 Dundee Utd Raith 3-2 Ayr Airdrie 0-1 Morton Arbroath 1-2 Dunfermline Partick 3-1 Inverness
  20. Is he the wee winger on the left? Thought he was your best player in the first half, looked really eager to take on the full back and create chances, although was more quiet in the second.
  21. Not a great performance but still much better than the previous few weeks. Scrape a draw away to Raith (unlikely) and bear Dunfermline and we can hopefully start looking up again. The whole back 4 were excellent today, even Ahui who I though handled the wee winger on that side quite well. Young, Chalmers, and Amartey were all also solid. Just need to keep grinding out results for the rest of the season, won't be pretty but we have more than enough about us to finish 5th/6th and be clear of any danger.
