Based on ability alone, he isn't good enough to make the current full strength squad. But neither do I think he is as far off as some seem to think. 2 or 3 midfield absentees and he would be there on current form/merit. The big question is the attitude and how he has conducted himself previously when in the squads. If its not been great then he could see himself easily moved from 3rd reserve to 5th or 6th reserve

You and your lad will be able to get resale tickets no problem for the Scotland games no problem if you are willing to pay. I suspect you will be able to get them for a couple hundred or under from stubhub and viagogo and places like that even now. Also when the official resale opens in the new year, will be loads of folk selling their official tickets. Genuinely don't think it will be tough to get a couple of tickets if willing to pay a wee bit.

Wouldn't surprise me if there is still tickets available this evening in most expensive category. May be hope yet for a 10 pointer out there

I think if he was to smash in ten goals in Bundesliga between now and March friendlies, I cant see anyone having an issue with him being called up in those games. And by default, anyone called up in those games has a very good chance of making final squad. That's why, I think for our strikers, if one can get some really good form, I think they will be in with best chance of last spot. Hornby to actually score ten goals though? Miraculous indeed

That was relatively easy and stress free - fans first tickets for all three matches. Word of warning to 11 pointers - the access codes are one use only then they expire immediately so DONT close your window or log out etc as you won't get back in. After I bought my tickets, I tried to log back in to see if opening game had sold out and got the message that the codes are one use only.

Obviously there is no official stats on it, but the number of people with firesticks (or similar) has increased rapidly over the last 5 years or so. My back of fag packet maths, has about 50% of people I know between the ages of 20 and 50 have some sort of dodgy streaming device now where they would be able to watch the football. Now that the services provided, the quality, support given and general ease of them has made them accessible to even the simplest of tech capable folk.

There was a time when he should definitely have merited a call up based on form - when he was at Blackburn and then went on to sign for Fulham. That two or three year spell from 2014 - 2017, he was red hot but for whatever reason was never called up. Think West Ham bid about 18mill for him after his debut season at Fulham. He eventually got the call up late 2017 I believe but the following season was when he started getting injuries and was in and out the team more as Fulham got into the Premier League and yo-yo'd between that and Championship. He never quite captured that early form imo although has been a solid enough player over the years.

Agreed about Mclean being a certainty. I think the only current midfielder we have that is on the cusp is Ryan Jack. If someone is getting bumped from our squad in midfield then it will be him.

I would put Shankland, Nisbet and Stewart in the same category as a 'striker' rather than a 'forward' like Dykes and Adams I.e offers something different for a different style of play. More of a natural goal scorer. As your own table shows, Clarke has always called up either Shankland or Nisbet in his squads with the only exception being a period where Nisbet was injured and Shankland was languishing in Belgium. And in those cases he called up Brown/Stewart/Fraser as his fourth option before reverting back to Nisbet and Shankland as options again once they have sorted themselves out. I'm not trying to argue with you, but I would suggest your own stats show that history DOES show that Clarke likes a different striker option more often than not.

That's exactly what I'm saying though. Clarkes 4th forward is likely to be someone who gets 5 or 10 mins at end of the game whilst we are looking for a goal - that's why I think the spot go to whoever he believes is most likely to grab that goal. Now, club form doesn't always translate into International form as we know but given there isn't alot to separate the options. If there is one of those players who is in red hot goal scoring form for his club in the run up the Euros, I suspect that could give them the edge for that fourth slot.
