Criteria for next Rovers manager: Doesn't move out promising young players to make way for his past-it neeburs. Doesn't obliterate team confidence by telling them that they're shite. Fields our best team even though he might not like some of our best players. Savvy enough to know that we are actually able to gain an emergency loan if we have terrible luck with 'keepers again. Skilled enough to read a game, see where we're being punished and actually do something about it. Don't make a rip-roaring c**t of a club that a lot of people have a lot of pride in. Sure there's more...

Terry the turnip and Colin the carrot were out mountain biking when Colin lost control and crashed over a 100ft cliff. The air ambulance took them to the hospital and poor Terry had a long, anxious wait before the surgeon finally came out and said, "Terry, I have good news and bad news." "The good news is that Colin is still alive." "What's the bad news?" Terry asked. "He'll spend the rest of his life as a vegetable."

Suppose it'd depend on the package we could offer him and the budget he'd have at his disposal. Is it not Aitken who has a really good job with Rolls Royce? If so, would that not dictate that he'd be part-time? I wouldn't mind Easton at all but the same can be said for Young and Aitken. If none of them are in line, can I again put forward the suggestion of some genius/eccentric foreigner looking to make his name in British football?

I've no doubt that most of the terrible decisions were made in good faith but good intentions don't hide ridiculous, often laughable incompetence. Like most of us I expect, I've been brought up to hold my hands up and apologise for any mistakes that I've made that may have an adverse effect on others. Doing so usually gains respect from people as they admire honesty and don't feel like you're trying to pull the wool over their eyes. A trait that the board may want to consider putting into practice soon before we lose some more pissed off supporters who hung around after the ill-advised statements and actions of this complete clusterfuck of a season.

Nae worries. Emotions running high this evening. I've checked myself a few times before biting to obvious fishing trips and making an erse of myself. Again. Cuthbert gave me the impression that he didn't have any time for Hughes' management style. Good on him. Hughes has had plenty of time to coach the 'pish' out of them and failed miserably. Total disaster.

To be fair to the players, every one of them acknowledged that we've had a bad season, "Shite" as the captain put it, but every one of them spoke with a steely determination about putting things right for the supporters, themselves and most importantly of all, the folk employed in the background whose jobs may be threatened if we go down. It's been grim this season but I'm right behind them and can't wait for Brechin on Wednesday.

Cuthbert did the presentation for player's player of the year and in his announcement said something along the lines of, "Maybe just as well the gaffer isn't here because he wouldn't like this... Bobby Barr!" I can't help but get the impression that Hughes has kept players out who he perceives to have a bad attitude even though it may be to the detriment of putting out our strongest side. I don't think the players will be too sad to see him gone. My own take, which might well be miles from the truth of course.

Just managed to get the wife to put subtitles on so I could see what BB8 was saying. -
The difference between Jason Thomson being labelled a 'keep' instead of a 'let go' was his driving runs from his RB position. Opposition on the back foot and pressure taken off the team. If he has been told to hold back and is simply following instructions then fair enough, hold on to him. If his ability to make these runs has dissipated then I'm afraid I'd be hoping for another first choice RB to start the new season.
