There's only so much you can do about the house, usually nobody else is off to go golfing and, as good as PES is, once you get to about 2033 in BaL even that gets boring. I've even considered a voluntary job for my time off.

There's nothing like walking out of your last shift knowing that you don't need to set alarms for 04:30 for a while but aye, you do often run out of things to do and begin to look forward to the routine again.

The way my current shifts run I often have a month off at a time and the thought of going back is torture. I always end up feeling glad that I'm back in a routine though and wonder if that's what galvanises women who have had all of that time off?

It was always going to be the case that Locke would come under pressure the first blip that the team had. I think his good start grants him an opportunity to show that he can drag the team back to winning ways but I can also see where folk are coming from with regards to worrying about how long we actually have before we end up in serious bother if things don't pick up. One thing is for certain: An absolutely shit, hostile atmosphere on Sunday won't help anything. Generating an atmosphere isn't solely down to the supporters though...

One thing out of this Bates transfer that makes me uncomfortable is the sentiment that, "We couldn't stand in his way." Whilst I agree that you wouldn't want to stand in the way of a dream move for one of the players, I feel that it also sets an unhealthy precedent and may encourage bigger teams to come in with absolutely shite offers knowing that the club won't put up much of a fight.

Successful in my application to join the maintenance team at my work. Start in March though hopefully sooner if they get someone to replace me in my current role. This means one weekend in four as opposed to four in seven, no nightshift and no on call. Pay rise too! Plenty of time to get my golf handicap into single figures and will no longer miss any Rovers games.

Had a dream that I was on the back of a super bike and the person steering it lost control. We flew up a flight of stairs and about 100ft into the air GTA style and I woke up when I was falling back towards the unforgiving concrete below. It was actually a really good dream until the end bit.

Wife got me a Blaupunkt one. One of my most used presents. Great for hiding somewhere and playing spooky recordings from your phone to scare folk. Good for music too. If your missus has lank, lonely single strands of hair hanging from her cranium then aye, any shitey old hair dryer will do. Anything other than that though and she's thinking you're straight in the good books for getting her a good one.
