  1. McGurn is easily in my top 5 Rovers players of all time, fighting with Mark Campbell and Shaun Dennis for the number one spot. Spoke to him about the adoration he received from the Rovers support and soon learned how much that adoration was reciprocated. Absolute legend and I hope his testimonial is well attended. 'Mon the Cowden!
  2. Headline writers dream if Banjo had a brother playing for the other side.
  3. Recently read The Blade Artist and thought it was excellent, especially the end... Also read Mr Mercedes by Stephen King. Like The Blade Artist, I power read through this and while it isn't my favourite King book it was a thoroughly enjoyable read.
  4. Also, I'm completely behind Locke and Jackson. They were as far down my list as some dino from the not-so-magic roundabout but they're in the job now and will get my full, unbridled support. How great would it be if the two of them shut the pusses of other teams supporters in style? 'Mon the Rovers! P.S. f**k the Pars.
  5. I know we're on a pretty meagre budget but I'd also like to see some forgotten mad foreign genius swagger through the tunnel every Saturday and tear teams apart. There has to be someone in the Ligue 5 or something who'd want the chance to impress at us and move on to some mid-table SPL side.
  6. Ok. We have Locke. No guarantee that he'll f**k it as badly as presumed on here so let's get right behind him and the squad. 'Mon the Rovers!
  7. I keep reverting back to happy thoughts about having Bene, Toshney et al signed up for next season. Trying to think positively, any of the gaffers mentioned carry a certain element of risk and none of them were a guarantee of success. I just hope this appointment doesn't turn out to be a guarantee of failure.
  8. I'm going to be very polite about this and simply state that I'm not very enthused about this appointment. I hope for everyone's sake that we get off to an absolute flyer.
  9. McBookie taking the piss. Hopefully. My preference is still Cleland but I wouldn't be too unhappy with Aitken.
  10. We're quite an attractive proposition so I hope we get some decent candidates well away from the usual suspects. Nothing to guarantee that one of the dinosaurs wouldn't work for us but I hope we go for someone fresh.
  11. Fly with the cringey, casual wannabe craws, get shot with the cringey, casual wannabe craws I'm afraid.
  12. This managed to make me cringe even more than the group of Stone Island clad Pars supporters swaggering their way to EEP for the abandoned game a few seasons ago. These bed sheets have somehow managed to make the Pars an even bigger laughing stock. Tragic.
  13. Can we start the fan power type posts that apparently made Gary Glen signing for Livingston if these are the potential candidates?Any decent players around who'd fancy a move into player-management? Two birds with one stone and all that.
  14. Thought the exact same.Proof reading must be a thing of the past. I'm resigned to Ray leaving at some point soon. Hopefully he'll leave us in the Scottish Premiership.
  15. SkyBet also paid me out for Barr on Saturday.I think this team has a right good chance of going up. Absolutely nothing to fear.
  16. I'm voting for Craigen's top corner volley so far. Technique was phenomenal. I'd be happy for one of the other players to change my mind though.
  17. I scored a hattrick against my own team after being loaned to a team who had only ten men because I hadn't been going to training. That was U-16 but I guess the point I'm making is that once you are on the pitch instinct kicks in and the natural determination to win rules over everything. I reckon that'd be the exact same with Craigen but the situation to play him or not is the very epitome of the word 'dilemma'!
  18. I was thinking about the Craigen situation too. I don't doubt the boy's integrity one bit but if he was facing a clear conflict of interest it'd be in the best interests of both the player and the club to keep him out of those games. Tough one.
  19. With a good pre-season behind him, I reckon Robertson might well do a Cuthbert and be immense next season. Happy with Davo re-signing as well. I'm not going to critique him though as only God can judge him and I'm not God.
  20. I detect a hint of sarcasm.A move to a new purpose built ground up the Chapel would be ideal. It'd be interesting to know how much such a facility would cost.
  21. I went for big Toshney. Solid at the back, solid in midfield and has chipped in with a few goals. Notable mentions to our defence and 'keeper.
  22. For anyone interested... The 200 Club is having it's annual quiz night on Friday 11th of March. We have space for ten teams of four at the usual £10 per team and these will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. There will be food provided and raffle prizes to be won, not forgetting the usual hilarity that surrounds these nights! Submit your team by private messaging myself or come see us at the club.
  23. Michael, I can forgive your constant haranguing of the much underrated Davo, but even putting the thought of Kilgannon's time at our glorious club in my head is a step too far.*angry face*
