  1. We're quite an attractive proposition so I hope we get some decent candidates well away from the usual suspects. Nothing to guarantee that one of the dinosaurs wouldn't work for us but I hope we go for someone fresh.
  2. Fly with the cringey, casual wannabe craws, get shot with the cringey, casual wannabe craws I'm afraid.
  3. This managed to make me cringe even more than the group of Stone Island clad Pars supporters swaggering their way to EEP for the abandoned game a few seasons ago. These bed sheets have somehow managed to make the Pars an even bigger laughing stock. Tragic.
  4. Can we start the fan power type posts that apparently made Gary Glen signing for Livingston if these are the potential candidates?Any decent players around who'd fancy a move into player-management? Two birds with one stone and all that.
  5. Thought the exact same.Proof reading must be a thing of the past. I'm resigned to Ray leaving at some point soon. Hopefully he'll leave us in the Scottish Premiership.
  6. SkyBet also paid me out for Barr on Saturday.I think this team has a right good chance of going up. Absolutely nothing to fear.
  7. I'm voting for Craigen's top corner volley so far. Technique was phenomenal. I'd be happy for one of the other players to change my mind though.
  8. I scored a hattrick against my own team after being loaned to a team who had only ten men because I hadn't been going to training. That was U-16 but I guess the point I'm making is that once you are on the pitch instinct kicks in and the natural determination to win rules over everything. I reckon that'd be the exact same with Craigen but the situation to play him or not is the very epitome of the word 'dilemma'!
  9. I was thinking about the Craigen situation too. I don't doubt the boy's integrity one bit but if he was facing a clear conflict of interest it'd be in the best interests of both the player and the club to keep him out of those games. Tough one.
  10. With a good pre-season behind him, I reckon Robertson might well do a Cuthbert and be immense next season. Happy with Davo re-signing as well. I'm not going to critique him though as only God can judge him and I'm not God.
  11. I detect a hint of sarcasm.A move to a new purpose built ground up the Chapel would be ideal. It'd be interesting to know how much such a facility would cost.
  12. I went for big Toshney. Solid at the back, solid in midfield and has chipped in with a few goals. Notable mentions to our defence and 'keeper.
  13. For anyone interested... The 200 Club is having it's annual quiz night on Friday 11th of March. We have space for ten teams of four at the usual £10 per team and these will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. There will be food provided and raffle prizes to be won, not forgetting the usual hilarity that surrounds these nights! Submit your team by private messaging myself or come see us at the club.
  14. Michael, I can forgive your constant haranguing of the much underrated Davo, but even putting the thought of Kilgannon's time at our glorious club in my head is a step too far.*angry face*
  15. Rubbish for the main stand mafia but completely understandable move from the club. We had about 2k at the recent game against Rangers so why should the board sit on their hands counting the empty seats and lost revenue when they can maximise profit?
  16. Two very worthy candidates.Think that'll be a close run election. IF Gordon wins and isn't allowed to continue as match do announcer can I put my name forward for that gig? "Welcome to Stark's Park. I've electrocuted all the seats and the first person to boo about something ridiculous is getting their arse fried." "Let's get right behind the Rovers!"
  17. I saw Ally on Thursday and he said that he was ready. Obviously sorry to lose him but happy that his final journey was peaceful. As unwell as he was, he was still hammering home to me how important it was to follow ambitions and not let them fall by the wayside. Top man.
  18. The second game at home to St Mirren that season was brilliant. St Mirren supporters had a whistle and were doing the old "*peep *peep Buddies army!" until big Brew skelped in a screamer. Delirium from our support, glorious silence from theirs. Pretty sure Tam Carson saved a penalty in that game too though may be mistaken.
  19. Gutted that I'm missing the game on Saturday. We're a decent striker away from being a really handy side so hopefully this young lad will do the business.
  20. I think a lot of our supporters are quick to get on the team's back because they were used to a wee bit of success a good while ago and think that should be the norm rather than a very rare exception. This rubs off on the younger ones unfortunately and they tend to follow suit. The sooner the majority of our supporters become realistic about the Rovers being a mid-table Championship side with the occasional tilt at the league title or a wee cup run now and again, the better.
  21. Maybe the eternal optimist in me but I reckon this signing points to Ray being certain of getting the out and out striker we require before the window shuts. Fingers crossed.
  22. I hope we sign some mad foreign shagger who scores for fun on the pitch and then heads out afterwards in his wacky foreign clobber to score for fun off the pitch too.
  23. The 4G has been touted but there are overheads outwith the club's budget to regard. The pitch installation would be around 500k and then you have the maintenance every 5 years (I'm sure) which costs around 100k. With both Balwearie and KHS having good facilities there's no guarantee that folk would use Stark's Park through the week as well. Might happen some time. Cannae see it being any time soon though.
