  1. Think you can charge differently in the league its the cup that has to be the same. Not so sure about that. I don't think we'll see hundreds of additional Morton fans anyway.
  2. Oh I would agree that we need to change formation. IMO we need players on both flanks who have pace, can beat a man and get a cross in. Petra continually needs to stop and switch to his right foot to get a cross in when played left which negates the fact that he's beaten the defender for pace in the first place. I wouldn't be against him as a RWB. He, in theory, has all the attributes for the position. Fast, strong and can cross (sometimes), his positioning would be suspect when defending however and he would need to learn to tackle so it's possibly a step too far to play him there just now (and let's face it, McKinnon won't do that, or play Robson for that matter.) We need to create more chances, it's not happening with over reliance on the likes of Paton and McGhee to supply them.
  3. I think Harrison's away. I'm sure he initially left on loan but that the deal was then made permanent with him being freed?
  4. So, given that it appears to be accepted by the vast majority that we need to adopt a more attacking formation, who would you prefer played wide left? IMO his crosses are generally better than others in the team. Petra can put in a good ball but can also hit the corner flag at the other side of the park. McGhee, Paton, Dixon tend to hit floated crosses that are easier for teams to defend and none of these players hit the by line on a regular basis. I'm not saying that Robson is some sort of superstar but I do think that he's one of our more capable players. I think there may be a deeper reason for him not being involved?
  5. You must have a very poor memory then as Robson gets crosses in in every game he plays in. Trouble is we've seldom got anyone in there to take advantage. I'm like a broken record but we need him in the team and we need to go 3-5-2. Still think that Petra could make a good RWB too, at least in an attacking sense, but maybe that's going a wee bit too gung ho!
  6. Time to go knobs oot boys. IMO he's no option but to attack this game on Saturday. Burgoyne McGhee, Edge, Dixon Petra, Waddington, Osman, McShane, Robson Rudden, Jarvis
  7. We'll know if we're going down at approximately 2.40pm next Saturday.
  8. Waddington for Paton and Todorov or Jarvis beside Rudden. Agree with the rest.
  9. Used both home and away dressing rooms at Stenny and Alloa and they're much the same really.
  10. Apparently Dobbie scored in the 6th minute of time added on. Naismith tells us that 90 seconds were added due to the celebrations and DKD's sending off. There were 3 substitutions made for us (two of them at the same time) and one made by QOS. As 30 seconds are added for each sub, that's a further 90 seconds. Neither physio made an appearance and there was no time wasting, so where the feck did the other 3 minutes added time come from?
  11. Didn't think McShane played all that well but thought he was coming more on to a game when he was hooked. I would play Burgoyne McKenna, Edge, Dixon McGhee, Waddington, Osman, McShane, Robson Todorov, Rudden Would have had DKD in there if the silly wee cnut hadn't got himself sent off!
  12. Thing is, we have players available who can win games for us. We know that Rudden's a penalty box striker, get balls into the box and there's a good chance he's going to stick some away, so we need to play guys that can deliver, i.e. Robson. Get back to a back 3, one of Paton or Osman out of the team (Paton probably) and play two up front. Let other teams worry about us, not the other way round!
  13. A 3 month contract extension really isn't so impressive plus Tidser would have been the ideal man to teach him his trade.
  14. Aye, but I think the appeal may have been dropped looking at this from the Morton site: All matters between the two clubs that are before the SPFL and SFA are now at a conclusion
  15. Make up your mind, I thought he was meant to be really bad at it?
  16. In fairness the Hartley thing was just mental. Nobody could have expected him to sign so many duds and to leave us in the shit to the extent that he did. I'm thinking that HSW meant that McKinnon should be given plenty of time to build on what he's started, assuming that we see some sort of progress each season. Not sure I would give him 3-4 seasons to do that right enough.
  17. Tuesday's a bit of a free go in some respects but I'm shiting myself for the Partick game. There will be a big crowd there and we all know what happens to Falkirk when there's a big crowd there!
  18. Any idea why the penalty had to be retaken? Didn't look anything wrong with the 1st one.
  19. Aye, that's what I meant about leap of faith.
  20. Oh, okedoke, didn't know that, I thought it would have been binding. Makes sense now though.
  21. Aye, by the Falkirk Herald. If it's true he's taking a real leap of faith there as he surely won't want to play in L1?
  22. i had a vhs video of that for years, the whole game and the pitch invasion after. and Billy Lamont and the players presentation from the main stand to the thousands still on the pitch. amazing game they said 8000 at it, more like 18000 was rammed both sides. anyone still have this video would still love to watch Was that the game Willie McGuire scored a screamer? I've probably still got the video in the loft. Got nothing to play it on though!
