  1. Nothing at all. Just passing on my observations and inviting some debate from the more erudite Falkirk posters on the merits, or otherwise, of the possibility of some ex players returning to the club. Sadly, very few of them have commented as of yet.
  2. Aye, but we've got Ray McKinnon and, eh, some other folk.
  3. Na probably not. Roll the dice I think Jarvis could be an asset in L1, Waddington too if he could last more than an hour!
  4. Mark Waddington, Aaron Jarvis and Dan Turner released. Should we try to get any of them back?
  5. Interesting that the area in blue says 'potential future building' rather than stand.
  6. Agreed, it would be as crazy as Austin signing for Kelty Hertz.
  7. You know, the ironic thing is that if a white knight like Sandy Alexander was to appear now we'd all be delighted! Lifelong fan (I think) and multi millionaire who should have the best interests of the club at heart. Pity that we're in this state with someone like that already involved. FWIW I would be very wary of an outside consortium coming in. Why the f**k would a bunch of foreign 'investors' want to get involved with us unless it's to 'develop' the stadium?
  8. I'd prefer him to drop Paton and play Dixon allowing Miller & Robson to play as wing backs. Need more attacking intent IMO.
  9. What's his age got to do with it? He'll be in his prime at 30 anyway! He scored 16 goals in L1 for a shit Stenny team, same number as Baird for a very successful Forfar and there are a few folk wanting him back! If we've got money to pay for a full 18-22 quality players then fair enough but I just don't see it.
  10. Well, it's like this Edi; we don't have a lot of money, income will be down significantly next season, the budget will need to largely be spent on the quality that we need to compete and we can't afford (IMHO) to spend on a full squad of full time quality players, at least not if we don't want to end up further into the financial shit. There are some part-timers out there (McGuigan being a good example) that could do a job for us as squad fillers. That Shepherd boy at Edinburgh City may be worth a shout, (well, according to you anyway.)
  11. Aye, Trump's just replied to say that he's contracted. I think it would make sense to have 2 or 3 part-timers in the squad though if that would release a bit more to spend on others with a bit more quality.
  12. Ach well, never mind. Wouldn't make a lot of sense to pay a fee for a part timer when the idea would be to save money on wages in the first place.
  13. I think a couple of part-timers may be required to fill out our squad and I know that your big striker, McGuigan, is well thought of. Do you think that he could do us a turn?
  14. That was truly unbelievable. How the f**k did they manage to score twice?
  15. I thought McLean was one of the best players on the park on Saturday and was disappointed when he was subbed. He does strike me as one of those players that'll maybe only turn it on occasionally though.
  16. Wouldn't be averse to having a couple of part-timers in the mix. For example, McGuigan scored 16 league goals in a brutal Stenny team this season and knows how to play against a lot of defenders in the league. Not saying he should be our top striking option but we'll need some depth to the squad so it's an idea worth considering IMO.
  17. It's a no from me. Didn't really rate him first time around and he seems to have regressed since, well, according to fans of St Johnstone, DU and Partick anyway. He would probably be OK in League 1 but, given McKinnon's comments about trying to get players on board for future seasons, I wouldn't want him for any possible Championship campaign.
  18. Well I know that the figure rumoured at the time was for way more than that and the DR report quotes Ritchie as having confirmed this. Of course the official figure was 'undisclosed' at the time so I'd be interested to hear where you get the figures that you quote?
  19. Aye, that's my memory of it too, although £500k is in my mind for the initial fee. I think we would have got a lot more if it hadn't been for Joe McKee though!
