  1. Oh aye, forgot about Shepherd (he's scoring for EC though so they may want to keep him), didn't know about the rest though. Also means that we'll have two keepers that he may not necessarily want to keep.
  2. Presumably then he doesn't own it outright or he would be in a position to write the debt off?
  3. Don't think we have options on the loanees? Could be wrong though. I think, and again may be wrong, that only Harris, Loy and McKee's deals extend beyond this season although we have options on Robson, McGhee and Sibbald. I can see a mass exodus in the summer and hopefully a lot more quality coming in, especially in defence.
  4. My fear about reaching the playoffs is that they may do more harm than good! Obviously I want us to win every game we contest and if that means we reach them then so be it but I'd be happy in avoiding the relegation playoffs and starting early preparations for next season. I'd definitely keep McGhee (even though he gets on my tits sometimes as he ambles back after losing the ball during one of his mazy runs), Robson, Sibbs, Nelson, Longridge and Jakubiak.
  5. I agree, however budget (or lack of it) is likely to play a major part in the standard and number of players that we can sign so the fact that he can play two positions is likely to be a factor IMO. I would hope that he's the first name among the subs next season so the fact that he's brilliant at penalties doesn't really come in to my thinking.
  6. Oh I think he'll definitely lose Watson, not because he's particularly bad but as he needs to make room for more quality. I think Grant has the rest of the season to show that he can get back to his pre-injury form. Can't see him doing that though.
  7. I think we'll see a lot of players leaving in the summer, unfortunately those may include some that we would rather keep. I've also got a sneaky suspicion that he may want to keep Muirhead because he can cover two positions.
  8. I believe that both McGhee and the club have an option which presumably means that he's got to stay if we want him to and we've got to keep him if he wants to stay whether we want him or not?
  9. Hopefully far too early to know who should get it but, thus far, I think McGhee, Robson, Sibbs, Longridge, Jakubiak and Nelson could all be in with a shout.
  10. That's very good. Enio Morricone makes it or me though.
  11. Far better player than Iain Russell mate!
  12. I don't think there's any doubt that we're still in danger. FWIW I also think that we'll survive but, as you say, it's not impossible that we could get sucked back into it and I was (somewhat tongue in cheek) merely trying to share my thoughts on the type of player that we could attract. You must remember that I'm retired and have feck all else to do all day.
  13. Don't think so. I read somewhere that both the club and the player have an option though?
  14. *Shudder* TBF, I think even Houstie would have brought in a bit more quality with the increase in budget that he would have had. Wouldn't have put my house on it right enough!
  15. Was just thinking about the kind of team we could field if the unthinkable happened and we dropped a league. Based on the standard of player that the budget would probably allow and those left who's deals extend to next season, we could be looking at something like: Thomson Muirhead, McCracken, Watson, Dick Harris, Blues, McKee, Stowe Loy, O'Hara And Scott Shepherd on the bench.
  16. Couldnt understand why that was as Hazard has been doing fine although hasnt been majorly tested yet. I'm wondering if PH will re-instate him on Saturday as I believe that Morton score a fair number of their goals from set pieces? Although we've not really seen him prove it yet I'm sure he'll be better than Thomson at claiming crosses.
  17. Agreed. I would keep McGhee, Robson, TT, Sibbs, Longridge & Nelson if we can.
