You're thinking of Jim Fowler because Colin Fowler didn't arrive until the late 70's/early 80's. I think that Jim signed after Cunningham and Fergie had left too, although he was a great prospect. He left Falkirk when George Miller wouldn't let him sign for Dundee Utd and returned to amateur football. A real waste of talent!
As he was out of contract in the summer, other clubs were able to talk to him and possibly sign him on a pre-contract. I'm sure they're will have been clubs sniffing around but he obviously didn't commit to any of them. I can't see why another club, who had the option to sign him for nothing, would now want to pay a substantial fee for him.
It may be the case that a club who has not shown any interest so far might want to explore the possibility of signing him, particularly if he maintains his scoring rate, but I think it unlikely.
I think sub appearances count?
Sorry, didn't realise that the total included sub appearances, so they will indeed be short. I'm sure that would be made up by the end of the season though.
I have it from a very reliable source that Nesbitt was indeed offered a one year deal with an option, which he refused, but didn't want to say as I'd been drinking sherry.
Most teams tend to sit in against us and try to be difficult to break down. I was surprised therefore to see you set up with such a high line and shocked that you continued it throughout given that Morrison and Miller were consistently given half of the field to run in to. The scoreline could have been so much more when you consider the number of chances that tactic gave us.
I think the squad's likely to be a bit bigger next year therefore I believe that McGlynn may well still be looking to add someone to challenge Nesbitt. I would imagine that Oliver's ability to cover different positions was uppermost in McGlynn's mind when the extension was offered.
You're right, he is a flair player but he can have a big influence in games when he's in the mood. It would have made sense to keep him for the Hamilton game because he would definitely have been in the mood for that one!
