  1. He took a couple of sore ones tonight, hopefully nothing that will keep him out though?
  2. Very good performance, slowed a bit in the 2nd half, but that was understandable. I thought Long (although he didn't have much to do), Donaldson, Spencer and Miller were outstanding, a cut above really. The rest were just very good, including the subs who all played their parts. Echo the thoughts re McIvor, he's proving to be a very good addition, not just for his goals but his general play and contribution. As I've said, McGlynn can spot a player, so maybe those that wrote him off should be eating some humble pie and admit that they got it wrong?
  3. Agree with this. McGlynn can spot a player, I don't think anyone would disagree with that because the squad is much stronger now than it was when he arrived. It's what he's doing with them that concerns me a bit. For example, due to injury and suspension, he was forced to put out a 4-4-2 against Annan (or so I thought) because that was the sensible thing to do with the players he had available. However, instead of having left winger Miller on the left wing and playing Agyeman through the middle with McIver, he insisted on the one up front again with Miller playing behind. This was against Annan, at home, not Celtic away FFS! I can see him being just as cautious tonight as SA would appear to be better than Annan are but I just hope he doesn't feel the need to bring Nesbitt or Oliver in from the start. Same personnel John please but just go 4-4-2 and go for it! I think it would be daft to sack him just now, win tonight or not, as we haven't got the cash to do it and, frankly, it would be madness at this early stage anyway. Only option I can think of re replacing him if things don't work out would be to put him on gardening leave and let Smith run things.
  4. I wouldn't sack him now either, but I assume you weren't referring to me? It would depend. If he gets us playing good football and we won the league with ease then I would, possibly against my better judgement, maybe want him to stay. If we do go up though, I think it'll be via fits and starts performances and that would colour my opinion against him.
  5. It would concern me that the board may consider him to be a 'safe pair of hands' in the Championship. I think he'd keep us safe but I don't think he would get us anywhere near challenging at the top. If he gets us promoted, I think we should say 'thanks for everything, but farewell' come the end of his contract.
  6. I was told some time ago, think it was around the Sheerin and Rennie disasters, that McCall wouldn't come because of the impatience and hostility of the fans. No idea if that was true however. He seems to come with a bit of baggage now too.
  7. You honestly think that we could afford Jack Ross?
  8. Therein lies the problem. We can't afford to sack him and who could we bring in, that we could realistically afford, that would be an upgrade?
  9. Aye, I seem to remember some issue with gas underground.
  10. The Commercial is far better, much friendlier and cheaper too.
  11. Whilst I can understand where you're coming from, the entitled idiots amongst our support who feel we've got some sort of right to be swatting everyone aside with ease form a surprisingly low number. Most of us realise that we're down here for a reason and that it's going to take a hell of a lot of hard work to get back up again. FWIW, I hope Stirling Albion have a good season, although not against us obviously.
  12. Surely the players highlighted have proved it on the park?
  13. Well, here's hoping that the players don't have the same mindset.
  14. If Hamilton pull further ahead or Queen of the South overtake us today, McGlynn should be sacked immediately!
  15. Ok, I'm going to listen to my reasonable inner self and won't bother to answer that.
  16. How was there a choice? Where would the money have come from to do it?
  17. What? I know that's the main reason he's still here, I'm asking why you would have sacked him when you realise that we couldn't?
  18. Are you not contradicting yourself a bit? You state that you would have fired him and the BOD have made a big mistake for not doing so, then explain why they couldn't have done that.
  19. Not sure if I've managed to woosh you or if you're just wooshing me back?
  20. I think we should get shot of him now. We need a manager who's got experience of getting out of this league. Jim McIntyre's available and it surely wouldn't cost us as much to poach McKinnon from Forfar as it did when he came from Morton?
  21. Aye, I did wonder if maybe both teams will be wearing their away colours?
  22. Given the amount of red on our strip, and the fact that this is under the lights, I wonder if the ref will see any issue with SA wearing their all red kit? Their away kit is all black I think, so that would definitely be unsuitable. Shouldn't be a problem as far as I'm concerned, but you know what officialdom's like these days!
