  1. Don't think we're going to get a RB now, sadly, unless sevco loan us that young laddie for free or someone leaves to free up a wage.
  2. He was exactly the same with Rowe last season, so I don't think it's anything to do with Yeats as such.
  3. I agree, he's a competent defender, he has very little urgency though. The fannying about needs to be coached out of him. He needs to move the ball quicker and realise that there's a player on the touchline that he can use to do that from time to time. His laid back style doesn't help right enough.
  4. McKay was caught under the ball on 3 or 4 occasions allowing their left winger to get away. I think his positional sense is his biggest fault, as we saw in the semi final. I don't think McGlynn sees RB as his 'best' position either, he's just having to throw him in there because he hasn't signed one.
  5. Christ, don't apologise bud, you're completely within your rights to tell me to f**k off!
  6. Not having a go mate, but please use 'have' rather than 'of' when appropriate. One of those things that just rips my knitting!
  7. It's not Allan as such, just that I think we need to play with two up front and Allan hits the target more often than not, where Ageyman certainly doesn't.
  8. BTW, Dundee Utd were honking, seldom seen a Utd team as bad! Tony Watt is a dick, clearly believes that he's some sort of super star.
  9. Aye, but to get the best out of McIver, someone needs to play beside him. Ageyman doesn't look like the poacher that we need up top. In fact, I reckon if he was through on the keeper he'd miss 6 or 7 out of ten! I think we need a partnership up there and I think that McIver and Allan should get a chance to form one.
  10. Long kept us in the game, coming off his line quickly twice to thwart United. He was our best man. Daft mistake aside, I thought Lang had a good game and Morrison looked lively enough. McIver played well enough but looks better when he's got someone beside him, surely, surely McGlynn has seen this and plays Allan on Saturday? Ageyman must have no left foot because he would probably have scored if he'd taken a shot at that 2nd half chance rather than try to turn it on to his right! I disagreed with folk who said that McGinn's legs had gone last season (because they hadn't) but it did look tonight that the injury has caught up with him. He should be used sparingly now. I wonder about Lawal's fitness as well. Yet another game that he's failed to complete and he looked well off it tonight. Maybe he's going to be better coming off the bench? Another twat of a ref as well with the Watt slipping on his arse and getting a free kick for it being a highlight. Their keeper completely took the pish out of him in the 2nd half as well. Ref warned him 3 or 4 times for time wasting but he just kept on doing it. We certainly need to learn to stop this fannying about at the back stuff. Tonight McGinn didn't have the legs to take the ball from the defence, we should have been playing it into the channels for Morrison and Ageyman or using the fullbacks more rather than the Donaldson to Lang, Lang to Donaldson, rinse and repeat shite. IMO we should drop McGinn, Lawal and Ageyman on Saturday and bring in Spencer, Miller and Allan.
  11. So it was. I'd forgotten all about the Cozy Powell one, was a great song though. Another guy that died too soon!
  12. Ryan Williamson played a full 90 minutes yesterday for the 3rd game in a row, something, I think I'm right in saying, he never achieved with us?
  13. What does 'looking to free up resources' mean? How much should we spend on a RB and where would the money for McGlynn and Smith's pay-offs come from?
  14. From the sound of it, best case scenario may be us stumbling over the promotion line then Smith taking over in the Championship!
  15. What do you think the BOD should do now, right now, to make things better and how do you think the money can be found to do it?
  16. I don't think there's many of us who think that McGlynn is great, far from it in fact, however, he's the manager, he's been backed to do a job and we need to support him and the team until such times that it's obvious that it's not working and a change is needed.
  17. You talking about last night's game? We did in fact have plenty of opportunities, we just didn't have anyone on the park that could take them
  18. He might, if the alternative was the dole. Smith with Berra as his assistant?
  19. Aye, it's all hypothetical anyway as McGlynn will never entertain it! It would depend on how good Miller was with his right foot and I did see him fire in a cross with his right last night.
  20. Miller would play and Agyeman and Morrison would be available off the bench. I just feel that we need to try something different and I don't see why Oliver and Ola couldn't work in that system. As it is we're looking at the same issues as last season.
  21. Me neither, but it may work. It's happened successfuly plenty of times in the past so I think it would be worth a try.
  22. My take on the game: I thought Long had a good game apart from the error for their goal. My immediate thought when he came for his first cross was 'where the feck is he going', only to see him claim the ball with confidence. I much prefer McCann to Mackie at LB (although I wish it was LWB), however, I thought he played in some very good crosses, especially in the 1st half. Naturally, we didn't have enough bodies in the box to attack them though and I thought MacIver could have been better at that. McGinn and Spencer is DM overkill and not needed in this league, although I recognise that McGlynn had little option last night. I was disappointed to see Ola moving back regularly to join them though meaning that we had no-one in a forward central midfield position a lot of the time. Young Yeats may just about do at RB but we obviously need someone in there (absolutely baffling that McGlynn didn't prioritise the position). Ageyman looks like one of those players that can be a world beater and pish all in the same move! He's going to frustrate the life out of us I think. I don't think McIver is going to score loads but looks like a good addition to the squad and I'd like to see him paired with Allan. We had Yeats, Lang and Morrison all out of position so, and I'll say it again, I'd like to see us try a 3-5-2 to help combat this. I'd try Miller as a RWB and go with: Hogarth, Lang-Donaldson-Henderson Miller-Oliver-Spencer-Lawal-McCann McIver-Allan Obviously it would be better to get a natural RWB in there but this would at least mean that we've only one player actually out of position and I feel that McGlynn's got to try something different because we need a lot more energy in the team. This would also give us a lot of options off the bench. On another note; can anyone tell me if Ola Lawal has ever completed a full competitive 90 minutes for us? I know he took a dull one early on last night but he always looks a bit fecked to me!
