Wouldn't have described him as a box to box player, not in his last stint with us at any rate.

I tend not to take too much notice of opposition players, unless they're real standouts. QotS fans seem to think that Hendrie has turned to shit however and, when with us, Tumilty was almost as a bad a defender as Williamson (almost). He was good going forward though.

Mad to think that Rowe, whilst being no world beater, was probably our best RB since Keiran Duffy who himself was nothing particularly special. I'd be happy to see Rowe back. Right back seems to have been a problem position for us for years whilst we seem to pick up some fairly good left backs regularly.

Football management, like most things in life, isn't an exact science though. He maybe didn't know that he had any chance of signing Spencer when he resigned McGinn for example. Nesbitt's deal was some weeks ago now too, when he knew that he would need a squad, not just a first eleven. Things move all the time in this game, players who were never thought to be available may suddenly become so, others that we think we're stuck with may get the chance to move on etc, etc.

Who was the box to box midfielder we had 3 seasons ago? I can't remember. Edit to add that I've just had a quick look at Better Meddle and, IMO, the last 'box to box' midfielder that we had that could be described as any good in the role was Will Vaulks! I would describe a box to box guy as someone who runs up and down a lot, sort of, well, from box to box really, and we've had a few of them since Will. Paul Paton and even Hetherington last season. I'm curious as to who you're talking about. Do you mean Gomis, McShane, Blair Alston?

I've also got a signed shirt and a few signed match balls. I also recently got that early 70s photo v Rangers (which shows Geordie Miller and wee Tiger waiting for the crowd to be moved back off the track) blown up onto a canvass and it hangs in my bar. The crowd was huge with kids sitting and climbing over the exit gate. Miller was in the left back position with Tiger in the middle due to Willie Cunningham telling them to switch positions which I remember clearly.
