  1. I think Connolly is a cracking wee player. Creative, quite pacey and offered a goal threat. He never hid either, very tenacious and gave up on nothing. Christ, he won more high balls than Sammon did! Not much good if he's not on the pitch though. I think we're struggling for wide options now as I think that Morrison's agent will be furiously trying to get him a gig elsewhere.
  2. Wouldn't have thought so. I was hoping that McKay was going to be back up behind Dixon and another two newbies. The re-signing of Hall though will probably only see one more CB - if we're lucky.
  3. I heard Paton as well but it was a different Paton altogether.
  4. Oh, what the feck are you on about now Shadwell?
  5. I know what you mean Shadwell. I wanted Zidane as manager with Aguero & Kane up front, but what do we get instead, exactly what we expected.
  6. I think that would be quite decent in navy & white.
  7. I think Keena's a natural finisher and would score plenty with the right service. Dowd's is more of a partner to the main striker but would probably score around 10 a season in a winning team. That said, we obviously need another couple of strikers in and the aim should be to improve on what we have. Whether that's possible in our current circumstances is another question.
  8. Just as well I'm not ITK then cause I'd win that easy!!
  9. Aye, Latapy would have been a fair shout and may well have been sounded out? I would have been wary though as I don't like ex heroes as manager as it almost always ends badly, either leaving for a bigger club like Yogi did or, more likely, getting the bullet like Houstie. I don't like players with that profile being remembered for the wrong thing. From the names that have been mentioned and that we could reasonably be expected to attract, I'd probably only consider Stuart Taylor or Steven O'Donnell before Sheerin.
  10. Who would have been your first choice and why? There are a lot of people that I would have liked before Sheerin but, let's face it, it's where are are at the moment.
  11. Well yes, obviously. He's the Aberdeen reserves manager and has managed Arbroath in the past. I'm perfectly willing to give him a chance to prove that he can manage the players as well as coach them. He won't have any other management responsibilities though like a 'normal' football manager would have.
  12. I meant after he was in the job, not his chance of getting it.
  13. He's to continue in the role of club ambassador.
  14. Well, at least you admit it. Apologies also for forgetting to add 'auld' the first time!
  15. Williamson's a WB not a FB so would be good if we play 3 at the back. Feck knows why Holt has signed him (if he has) before knowing what type of system a new HC would play then?
  16. As has been said multiple times, we're recruiting a coach, not a manager. As far as I'm aware Sheerin (if it is indeed him) has a very good reputation as a coach so, as long as the set-up with Holt works and he's left alone to actually coach the players, the club may just have played a blinder. Whatever, we've got to give the guy a chance.
