pandarilla
Sam's latest 'trick' has started. Tonight in his cot he kept standing up and head butting the edge of the cot and doing so really powerfully. Me telling him 'No' had zero impact. Any suggestions? Anyone seen this nonsense before? I think it's best to ignore this kind of stuff, as long as he's not hurting himself. My wee one throws the odd tantrum. He only does it in the house but goes ballistic. It lasts for a good ten minutes as he tries to hurt himself on various things. I think it's best to just stay really calm. He wants to get you to react.
The Woolshed
Usually I do just ignore but this sounded and looked particularly sore so didn't think I could just turn a blind eye...
Honest Saints Fan
We have no interest in kids TV yet. You should see the wee one when The Chase comes on though, it's easily the most excited she is all day. She'll sit and watch it for the whole hour too.

I'm no expert but maybe something to do with baby arriving and feeling like he no longer gets 100% attention. I know a few friends had tantrum issues when the new arrival appeared on the scene.
The Woolshed
Think you're right unfortunately. My wife is much more chilled and relaxed and so this kind of thing isn't phasing her at all. I worry that he's going to end up hurting himself badly trying to get our attention at this rate.

The Woolshed
Good point Rowan, thanks. In the heat of the moment it's very difficult not to react to them.
RH33
My 4 yr old sleeps in my bed. They all did at some point as I was too soft to leave them in their cot! I'd pick him up and give him a cuddle!

Honest Saints Fan
9 months old already! We eventually have a tooth and she is on the verge of crawling. I'd like if she wasn't on the move for say, another 10 years...

The Woolshed
Our little boy is 5 weeks now. Still very gurney and not a great night time sleeper. But a star none the less. He's already 12 and a half pounds for all those who love to compare [emoji6]
