phantoms-livi-lass
Just saw the following on Livi Lions. Anyone who thinks [1] that it's necessary to have a full-time team to win Div 3; [2] that having a full-time team will ensure you win Div 3; or [3] that the losses incurred will in any way be off-set by alleged increases in attendances and turn-over... are mad. Stark raving. But we've been here 3-4 times before.LL has plenty of nutters, like Pedro/LiviJames/Charles Darwin Esq/Deek/Seb530/Biko, all convincing each other the SFA are corrupt and/or it's blazers closing ranks and/or Livi are being victimised. Livi fans need a major reality check. I am a stark raving nutter & I'm very deeply hurt that I'm not on your list!
Afro
We should be getting rid of all the high earners in January and selling off the ones that are sellable so we can use the money to bring in some good part time players experienced enough to win this Division or consolidate our place at least. Then once we start making a profit (if we do) split it 50/50 - half to the creditors and half gets reinvested in the team.

Afro
This is a wind-up, right? Right? We sold McKee to Burnley and Halliday could go for a fee. So no, it's not a wind up.
Loondave1
Amazing a shipwreck of a club but still with more money to spend than everyone in the division .If their full time squad adapts to 3rd division requirements and romps the league i for one will be well pissed off as it makes the title race a complete joke just like Gretnas meteoric rise.Fingers crossed things dont go well and financial reality raises its ugly head by Christmas!
vikingTON
We sold McKee to Burnley and Halliday could go for a fee.So no, it's not a wind up. How many Third Division players have been sold for a fee in the past, ooh, five years? Besides, the 'getting them off the wage bill' motive automatically removes your bargaining strength when it comes to fees. You can't afford to keep paying the wages, so it's a lose-lose situation. They'll go for nothing, there'll be no profits and you'll be an also-ran Third Division side, still cheating your creditors until the day you finally fold.

It's a full-time shit squad. They'd have been in the play-offs last year were it not for Griffiths, since then they've lost a whole host of players. And any Morton fan can vouch that part-time teams are too often more than a match for their full-time 'betters'. Monster
Have a look at this. It's the Ayr United Chairman's blog on the official site. Hits the nail on the head.
djn
Unbelievable that McDoog wants to continue full-time It's not that he *wants* to, it's that he's stuck paying for full time players on old contracts he didn't get punted before the "window" closed - plus the bizarre Robbie Winters signing. You might as well say "The Scottish tourist board want to continue having pish weather". He's stuck paying full time First Division wages in the Third - he can pretend all he wants that this was all part of his cunning plan though Ignorance is not always bliss. I dunno, Swampy always seems happy

Excellent blog ( from a football-minded person!!) Pretty much gives us a viewpoint from the clubs themselves. Mind you, when Kenny Black and Jim Ballantyne said more or less the same thing, they were slaughtered for their self-preservation opinion. phantoms-livi-lass
I dunno, Swampy always seems happy We are all aware that Swampy's happiness comes from your team modelling your strip for him every week, without that little ray of sunshine in his life he would be a miserable grumpy man, much like he was in his 'pre-fettish with Berwick strip' days.

LIVIFOREVER
i will be delighted if thats proved to be true. Apart from him talking shit why would you be delighted? We're forced to keep players on full time wages as they're under contract, we could always rip up their contracts and not honour them saying we're in admin so they can go on the creditors list but then you'd be moaning at that too, christ we canny win with some folk, damned if we do the right thing and damned when we don't.
