Quick Question Thread

You can do it just as easily in a saucepan, instead of a wok. Just make sure you keep stirring it so it doesn't stick to the bottom.

Balti is by far one of the worst though... Much prefer a nice madras or a jalfrezi.

So all I need to do is brown the beef (surely there is a fnarr in there somewhere?) and then add the curry sauce? Nothing else?

Just use a saucepan or even a frying pan - dopiazza is the way forward...

Like Dunc, I prefer a Jalfrezi, but it was my Mum that gave me this curry sauce to make a curry out of the Christmas turkey. As that all got scoffed in sandwiches, I'm wanting to put the sauce to use. I'm dead clever, I am. 8)

Aye, you can brown the mince in the bottom of a saucepan with a bit of oil, but you're probably better to use a frying pan if you don't mind the extra washing up. Once it's browned, just tip it into the saucepan and add the curry sauce, then Bob's yer maw's brer.

Except for knowing how to cook some meat in a sauce......

Fantastic! Cheers Dunc and Monkeyblair!

That's hardly fair is it? She will be humped by the time she gets home, the last thing she will want to do is talk to me!

Nice - resourceful and a caring partner.

Christian in 'Enders was the last person I knew like that.

What, you call trying to ruin your secret boyfriend's wedding caring? He shot right down in my estimations with that trick.

Can anyone recommend a decent deal on a credit card at the moment? I'm looking for one that won't charge an arm and a leg to withdraw cash abroad. Is that possible, sorry I've never had a credit card before.

I don't mind paying 1.50 or something like that, but nothing outrageous.

What rude-ish words are you allowed to say on radio pre-watershed? Or even post?

I was listening to BBC 6 Music yesterday and they played the full version of Belle and Sebastian's "Boy With The Arab Strap" which contains the word "wanks" at the end, and they've recently played "Tubthumping" by Chumbawamba with the "pissing the night away" bit unscrambled, which definitely didn't happen when it came out in 1997(ish). They've also just played "Stereotypes" by The Specials which includes "pissed" so you can definitely use that.

I wouldn't expect them to be able to play the uncensored version of "The Man Don't Give A f**k" by SFA, but I don't even recall late night radio shows having any swearing from the DJ without some kind of apology, which is weird given what you can say on TV after the watershed.

Long preamble, short question-what are you allowed to say?

What is the film (fairly recent) where there is a bomb planted in some government building or something. And the wee chap is playing an instrument, and when he hits a certain note, the bomb goes off?
