Zen Archer (Raconteur)
How did Robinson Crusoe know that Man Friday was a plumber? He found his footprints in the sand.
blanco
Right that's 1 each for flexi and rigid. Any advance? Do the exact opposite of whatever Mozzarella and Zen tell you to do.
blanco
Don't listen to this. Cheese talking nonsense. Fucking autocorrect, I never even noticed that.
welshbairn
The copper tails will be annealed and therefore will allow some movement, fitting this type is better as when attaching to the existing pipework there is little chance of contorting the tails as you would with flexible tails. Some taps come with the copper tails brazed to the body of the tap, others, with threaded tails can come with optional flexible tails. What's the difference between dark energy and dark matter?
tinkerbelle
Hmm. Zen knows plumbing, Magee knows plumbing. Has anybody ever seen a picture of the two of them together? Zen, I had a job last week to change a monoblock tap in a restaurant kitchen. They were in a large steel work surface. Instead of the usual 35mm hole to mount the taps, the person that fitted the original taps had bored 3 small holes for the pipes and the fixing bolt. Not an easy changeover.

It's easy getting your hole, it's not easy getting the right one. One the other note, I don't like Weetabix.

KnightswoodBear
I've been toying with the idea of getting my daughter a wee fish tank as a couple of her pals have them and she seems to love them. I don't want to just get a plastic bowl and fling in a couple of goldfish as that seems a bit cruel. Does anyone on here keep fish, either cold water or tropical? I'm looking for advice on what are the do's and don'ts.
Hedgecutter
Does anyone on here keep fish, either cold water or tropical? I'm looking for advice on what are the do's and don'ts. It's really not expensive as folk make out. I've got a goldfish which I won at the Burntisland Shows in 1994, plus two others which I added in for company (caught in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline). From my experience: Do change the tap water three or four times a week, using one of those filter pitcher things first but don't tie a tight knot at the top of the (original) plastic bag as it prevents fresh oxygen getting in. Guppies are also a good choice, as theres a good chance you'll get babies
Shuggie_Murray7
Did there used to be a thread on P&B where it was just everyone reliving the greatest hits of people making an arse of themselves or did I dream that?
AberdeenBud
Did there used to be a thread on P&B where it was just everyone reliving the greatest hits of people making an arse of themselves or did I dream that? Nah, there definitely is Bud. Can't remember what is was called, something like "best/worst thing you've ever seen on P&B". Probably Paulo's betting "system" or Doyle's post about how his gf looked like Katy Perry were my faves. Karpaty
I think it was around the time of the "10th anniversary". I ended up on that thread as well.

gavin_3110
Heading to Manchester with two of my mates for a gig on Wednesday. Can anyone recommend any student-y clubs where the big awkward laddie going with us has best chance of his oats on a Wednesday eve?

Hedgecutter
If you relived your life (identical surroundings and completely unaware that you were reliving it), would you make exactly the same choices all the way through it, or would your mind one day choose pasta over fish for dinner, potentially setting you off on a completely different path? pandarilla
Another plumbing question... How much is an acceptable amount to offer a plumber to re-seal a bath (it's been a tricky b*****d, I've tried to do it once but keeps leaking)? I've got a plumber coming in to do bits with our new kitchen and figured I could get him to do the bath whilst he's here.
