Things you want to share with P&B

I met Kyle once and he was pretty sound. Seen them a few times and apart from the time a few days after his Mum died he's always been on good form.
I'm not moaning about today's 'scene', more moaning about my complete lack of knowledge of it. DMA's have caught my attention but only heard a couple of songs.

Me and my girls little brother have been swegered together a couple of times and he's just turned 19, quite a few of his pals enjoy recreational drugs as well. When I started going with his sister he hated indie music/drinking/ wearing Fred Perry/Ralph Lauren type clothes and he played rugby. He's now the complete opposite and I can't help but feel slightly responsible.

Sounds like you are grooming him.

Nah. They've just got cool new drugs they don't want to share with old yins like us anymore :(

Yeah i suppose, one 20 year old i know constantly brags about getting off his tits and having wild weekends. To be completely honest the thought of me having to put myself through anything like that gets me quite stressed and I have become far to settled on just enjoying a few drinks and an early night. Some people carry on with that behaviour in to their late 20's but i was over it by 24/25 apart from the very occasional blowout.

Surely nobody likes a 30 year old who still goes out clubbing? I always assume everyone my age has gone off the scene anyway.

I spend most of my time on nights out having a few quiet drinks in the pub, maybe going to my pals for a night in, more often a night out has some sort event with it such as a show or an art exhibit or something like that.

Then every coupla months I take enough drugs to kill an elephant and embarass myself in public.

Great stuff.

But I'm never, ever going back to Richmond

Sounds like you saved him from long, unfulfilling life!

Yeah he was on course to be one of those weird preppy rugby types who enjoy drinking each other's piss and playing with each other's bumholes. I made the right call.

The older I get the less i like being around people who are drunk or high on drugs.  I've never really liked it but as I hurtle with glee towards middle age I'm really finding it intolerable.

I tend to drink in the afternoons these days, partly from family responsibilities and partly because there are less arseholes about. If you lose the habit of late night drinking it's like stepping into the lower rings of Dante's Inferno, especially if you're middle aged (considerably less than 60) and youngsters laugh at your dancing. Decent drugs would sort it out but dealers don't generally advertise themselves to afternoon drinkers or men of a certain age. Since arriving in Inverness I haven't really adopted an evening local where all things are available through hints and connections. Keep meaning to become a regular at the Market Bar, but I'm a bit lazy.

The Market Bar used to be full of goths. If they haven't cleaned that place out you won't enjoy it unless you're dressed like Robert Smith.

These days it's a mixture of winos, bag ladies, a few studentey types and middle aged gentlemen and ladies. That's downstairs, I'm a bit wary of going upstairs in case I get on the ugly people in night clubs thread.

Ah, the creme de la creme. I thought the upstairs was just a wee area where local bands played. I haven't been in there in about 12 years though.
