couple of folk who have always seemed generally sound of mind but now seem certain that Bill Gates wants to force the world to take his drugs so he can rule for all eternity.

With his dosh and being in his 60s would he not be better working on a life extending drug before going for world domination? Would only take the world domination bit serious if he was in a swivel chair and stroking a cat.

Can the good people of P & B not record a charity single to raise funds for Mumsnet given our fraternal/sororal/paternal/maternal connections from a few years back ??

I'd like it to be a fitting tribute and would suggest a cover of the legendary Fife band, "Stookie's Foot" single from the 70s called "Whingeing Bints".

Any alternatives for the charity single ??

Currently watching a play through of the FF7 remake on YouTube, somttjing I just don't do.
I'm waiting for a good moment to tell the wife I'm rebuying a ps4 just to play this.
Have you played the original? My favourite game ever. Haven't got the remake yet as I don't have a PS4. It'll be getting bought though.

Of course, was one of my all-time favourite childhood games. Must have played through it twenty times in my life, or not far off that.

I've got a shitload of stuff still there!

That's not even the first copy of the game I had. My dad took us on a shopping day out, which sadly were all too many boring days normally to Perth or Kirkcaldy where we would just walk round and browse a load of junk. We were in Woolworth's in the Mercat centre and they were doing a deal you were getting 2 Platinum games for £20. My dad mostly bought me the platinum (reduced classic) range because he was a cheapskate but wanted to keep me happy. He said he'd buy me this and another game if I wore a stupid "Jimmy" hat for the rest of the day. I absolutely f*cking hated him for making me do that but I wanted this so much I agreed. Also got the original Driver, which was brilliant at the time.

Harsh yet amusing from your old man!

Aye, my parents used to do the same boring shitey trips. Stirling was their big one (it's surprisingly close to Saline) if it wasn't Dunfermline, but there was the occasional Kirkcaldy visit.

Like you I absolutely hated such trips and was fucking delighted when I was old enough to not have to go.

P.S. Aye you've still got some bags of shite here (not literally bags of shite of course). Found your Filth poster recently.

I'm sure I remember Super Star Wars for the Super Nintendo selling for £70-£80 back in the early Nineties. One of the many reasons you were better off with a Mega Drive/home computer until the SNES had been out for a few years. Let's not get on to the Neo Geo - anyone who had one of those was a spoiled w**k.

If anyone's wondering how games can be a similar or cheaper price to 25 years ago, it's because they sell more copies now. As we all get older, the market gets bigger.

Aye Snes games could be pricey. I remember my mate persuading his parents to shell out £65 for super street fighter 2. Wasnt a patch on MK2 had for half the price on the mega drive.

It was a lovely machine once it had been out for a few years and you could pick up the games used, but I can't imagine paying that kind of money for a computer game.

Let's ignore the fact that I spent £100 on a collector's edition from a poster on here, and would consider doing the same if they released one for Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2

Woolworths was usually the highlight of a trip around the mercat.
