Bishop Briggs
Porte signs with BMC for next season. To be replaced by Landa presumably. Riding the TdF too. Leader or domestique for Tejay?
kiddy
Think there was controversy in the Classica San Sebastian today, Greg Van Avermat apparently knocked off his bike, by a moto rider, whilst leading? That's twice in a week, following Fugelsang in the Alps, surely the commisser's will have to lay down the law to the bikers. kiddy
That's another moto incident in the race in London today. Sep Vanmarcke almost taken off his bike, when leading the race with8 km to go. It's high time the riders had it out with these guys before the races start. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SYYU629l6w Edited August 2, 2015 by kiddy

Desert Nomad
Doesn't do Garmin's reputation as the cleanest team in cycling any good.
kiddy
That's Danielson's 2nd offence, lifetime ban in prospect, but he's 37 now anyway. Edited August 3, 2015 by kiddy
Desert Nomad
Whole Garmin team has been pulled from the Tour of Utah where Danielson is the two time defending champion. Vaughters has big problems.

Bishop Briggs
Whole Garmin team has been pulled from the Tour of Utah where Danielson is the two time defending champion. Vaughters has big problems. Alex Howes of Cannondale-Garmin was second in Stage 1. A friend emailed me this quote from the New York Times which has a paywall. "Vaughters launched a developmental cycling squad dedicated to ethical competition. That team has since evolved into Cannondale-Garmin. Early on, the team implemented a stringent doping policy that remains today. If a rider is caught doping, the whole team will be fired." Bishop Briggs
He's claiming that he's not taken anything deliberately and blames it on the supplements he takes being contaminated, which he has submitted for testing. He tested positive for synthetic testosterone. Not a legitimate excuse. Danielson should have followed his team's advice but obviously didn't.

kiddy
Froome to ride La Vuelta. Can't see him winning it. A podium might be a big ask, going by Contadors attempt at the Giro/Tour double.
Bishop Briggs
Froome would not be riding in Spain if he or Sky think that he cannot win it. Nibali, Quintana and Valverde will also have post-TdF fatigue. Froome on good form can beat them all if his domestiques perform well. The rumour is that Landa has signed for Sky already. Astana will ride for Aru if Nibali performs poorly again. A fresh Aru could be Froome's biggest threat.
Desert Nomad
The opening TTT stage of the Vuelta won't count towards the general classification because it's on a fucking beach. Great organisation as usual in Spain >_>
