CHEAT!!

Re-awarding the TdF titles should be interesting.

Who was clean in that era?

Armstrong should own up. He owes it to those mugs that bought those plastic wristbands.

Good comment from The Grauniad -

The moral of the story is that if a cyclist looks too good to be true, then he probably is. But if a cyclist looks too good to be true and has an entourage of lawyers, press flaks, doctors and bodyguards, then he definitely is.

I'm so happy for Christophe Bassons and Fillipo Simeone today. They were right all along and must feel great at the vindication.

Just think, if other had shown the same sort of fortitude and backbone as those two did, bike racing might not be the rotten swamp that it was and continues to be.

f**k Lance Armstrong, his acolytes and his wee yellow wrist bands.

Listened to David Walsh on SSN about this ,,,ohmy.gif stripped of everything he's ever won , on of the most cynical drug cheats in the history of sport

I listened to the woman who was formerly head of the British anti doping agency on BBC, she thinks there is a long way to go yet before he is actually stripped of anything.

Has anyone been watching the highlights on ITV? Who the hell picked them to do the commentary on the race?

They usually comment on the British scene for ITV4, think they've done Eurosport too, their monotone drawl sends you to sleep. -_-

Makes Liggett & Sherwin sound interesting!

Not one clean rider among them IMO. People will point to Sastre, but any involvement with Riis is highly suspect.

When is the stage of La Vuelta into Andorra? It's the next mountain stage before next weekends epic triple header.

to me 2008 was the cleanest recent year due to all the shit had gone on the years before with puerto, rasmussen and vino. all the cera users got busted and stood out like a sore thumb.

the pivotal stage of that tour is what clean racing should look like. csc's 3 proper climbers isolated evans and the schleck's double teamed him while sastre slipped away to climb into yellow at a steady pace. i wouldn't bet on sastre being clean but the context and events of that tour make me think he is definitely the 'cleanest' recent winner.

Armstrong should own up. He owes it to those mugs that bought those plastic wristbands.

f**k Lance Armstrong, his acolytes and his wee yellow wrist bands.

You do realise the wristbands are about beating cancer and thinking about those who have it, not winning the TdF or anything to do with cycling right?

The association with Armstrong right now is unfortunate, the rationale behind them is as valid as ever though. I wear one and will continue to do so.

IMO the only clean winner in a generation is Óscar Pereiro. The pivotal stage of the 2006 tour being 13. When Landis Team Phonak let OP turn a 28 min defecit, into a 2 min advantage, whilst forgetting that the guy could climb & the rest, as they say, is history.

I take it they were only coloured yellow down to him being scared of dying from this horrible disease?
