I really enjoyed CAKE last night, John McCrea was in very good voice and it was a proper crowd pleasing setlist. Not sure about that intro music though!

Was pretty funny when everyone thought it was over and then it started again.

6 gigs in 5 days for me starting tonight (the joys of Celtic Connections).

Ronnie Spector & The Ronettes tonight, Songhoy Blues tomorrow, Rachel Sermanni on Friday, Death Cab for Cutie on Saturday, then Hazy Recollections (with Barrie-James O’Neill & Megan Airlie) and The Delines on Sunday.

Was actually pondering Death Cab just to see The Beths in support. Probably not but try and see them imho

Yeah, I'll definitely be going down for them. Their record was one of my favourites from last year.

Death Cab supported by The Beths seems a little incongruous.  I wonder what the link is there?  It's a bit like Frank Turner and Jimmy Eat World.   Quite a polarising line up, you'd have thought.

Anyway, The Beths are probably at the top of my must-see list for SxSW this year.

Death Cab For Cutie were utterly brilliant last night.

The Beths were great too, although the shitey Academy sound drowned them a bit.

Looking forward to DCFC touring over here on the back of their best album in a while. Is Gibbard still gobbing all over the stage or has he reined that in a bit?

Was down in Glasgow at the weekend for Celtic Connections.  My wifes uncle is in the band Cua who were playing at the festival for the first time and it was a cracking gig.

Excellent band and hopefully the start of some more gigs.

Correct on both counts.  Did wonder if he might do his version of My Backwards Walk during the encore as a nod to Scott H, sadly not.
