  1. Sort of - I order(ed) them by sticker number and went through them in numerical order.
  2. Have listened to enough good stuff this year for a top 10 of the year so far now: Daniel Romano - Too Hot To Sleep NewDad - Madra MGMT - Loss Of Life Holy Esque - Lay My Head Down Slow Yard Act - Where’s My Utopia? Sheer Mag - Playing Favourites The Smile - Wall Of Eyes Future Islands - People Who Aren’t There Anymore Ducks Ltd - Harm’s Way Omni - Souvenir
  3. Not a fan of the numbering being within the teams rather than just starting from 1. Pain in the arse to find things.
  4. I did - best of the three brilliant shows. Did you go too?
  5. The new Daniel Romano album is exceptional and will definitely be up there, if not my favourite this year. Have also been enjoying the NewDad, MGMT, Yard Act and Sheer Mag records.
  6. In that there London for The Hold Steady weekender. Night one was unreal.
  7. The thing that I can’t seem to get my head round is how we’ve went from conceding so few goals under Doolan last season, to chucking them in every game, when we had dross like Darren Brownlie and have replaced him with Lewis Neilson. The lack of a proper Docherty replacement (until McBeth gets fully up to speed) has fucked us massively.
  8. Saw Slowdive last night and told two c***s who shouted at each other for the duration of the first three songs to quieten down. They told me this was “a rock concert, not the opera” and that they “had paid the same money as everyone else, so we can do what we want”. Cannot be arsed with gigs anymore, especially when this is folk’s attitude.
  9. Absolute bottle merchants. PTSD from the playoffs there and as soon as Livi scored the first, it was only going one way. Bannigan was excellent for us, as was Milne for the majority. As has been mentioned previously, and acknowledged by Doolan, the subs killed us. Not sure the logic of taking Graham and Lawless off that early, and particularly not McMillan unless he was injured. Neilson had a good game, but he let Nouble run at him inside the box for the second, and I think it’s his man for the winner. Livi were good second half and extra time, so probably deserved to go through overall, but it’s so frustrating how we can’t hang onto leads.
  10. Listened to the Eliza McLamb album based on this and loving it, so cheers!
  11. I think I’ve seen The Fratellis and The Twilight Sad about 40 times each, at least. Kassidy and Travis won’t be too far behind.
  12. First gig of the year was Darlingside who were excellent at Saint Luke’s last night. Got J Mahon at The Hug & Pint on Tuesday then CLR Theory at The Glad Cafe on Friday.
  13. Thistle miles off it tonight. Bar one Fitzpatrick chance at the end of the first half, which he probably should’ve done better with, there wasn’t really anything clear cut. Don’t think McInroy made a successful pass at all tonight, and Muirhead and Stanway were just as bad. Sneddon also needs dropped - the one thing McCall did well was dropping him and Mitchell whenever they had a dip, but that hasn’t happened at all this season. Doolan made the right call to go 4-4-2 when United hadn’t killed us off, but the risk obviously didn’t pay off. As others have said, interesting that Diack came on over Adeloye. Given what we’ve heard from Ayr fans about his attitude, I can’t imagine he’ll have been too chuffed with that. Wouldn’t be too arsed if he ended up going back to Swindon in January and we got someone else in, since he hasn’t been particularly great whenever I’ve seen him. If we don’t sign a half decent Docherty-style holding midfielder in January, then I don’t think we finish in the playoffs.
  14. Last gig of the year next week seeing Man of Moon at The Glad Cafe. Top 10 of the year: Bruce Springsteen at Estadio Olimpic (which is the best gig I’ve been to in my life) Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires at Broadcast Bdrmm at the Classic Grand Yves Tumor at QMU Elton John at the Hydro The 1975 at the Hydro OSees at the Old Fruitmarket Boygenius at Gunnersbury Park Cory Hanson at the Moth Club The Twilight Sad at the Old Fruitmarket Been a really good year for gigs. Jessie Ware at the Barrowlands, Geese at King Tuts and Christine & The Queens at Usher Hall were also excellent.
  15. My top 10 for the year: Boygenius - The Record The Hold Steady - The Price Of Progress Deer Tick - Emotional Contracts Geese - 3D Country The Murlocs - Calm Ya Farm Slime City - Slime City Death Club Ratboys - The Window Bdrmm - I Don’t Know OSees - Intercepted Message Fews - Glass City Honourable mentions for the J Mahon, Nation Of Language and Wednesday albums too.
  16. Bleach Lab tonight, Silver Moth tomorrow, Bdrmm on Sunday. Jessie Ware and Ratboys next week.
  17. Cloth tomorrow night at Stereo, then Deadletter at the Attic on Thursday to start a busy November gig-wise.
  18. This is all spot on. Didn’t think the goal should’ve been disallowed at the time, and still don’t after watching the highlights. Knew Paton could’ve done better with a couple of those during the game, but the highlights make them look even worse.
  19. Queens were the better team by a fair distance in the first half. No idea how we were 1-0 up at HT. Second half we were a bit better but still poor. McInroy was the only positive from the first half, thought Stanway was excellent in the second. Painfully obvious that we’re missing a Docherty-type in the middle of the park, which none of our 45 central midfielders can do. Completely forgot Alston was on the park at any point. Adeloye was atrocious until his goal. Graham did his best as a number 10, but it was clear he was playing out of position. Milne was gubbed for about 10 minutes before he was brought off, but I understood the hesitation to bring him off. If Ngwenya is out for any period of time then it’ll be a good laugh for our wing-backs, since MacKenzie isn’t the answer and Milne has been badly off-form since coming back from injury. Got away with one tonight.
  20. Fairly even game in the first half that United probably edged. The second goal, killed it, and third coming so quickly afterwards killed any desire from our players to keep it respectable. Absolutely criminal not to bother replacing Docherty in the summer, and today proved exactly why. Strolled it against McInroy and Bannigan who were abysmal. Special mention for how bad McDonald was when he came on as well. There has been a couple of horrendous results/performances this season, but there have also been some great ones. We’re 3rd after the first round of games, which is where we’d reasonably expect/hope to be. Massive improvement needed for Friday night, but going by the trend of recent results, we’ll probably get one.
  21. Lorelle Meets The Obsolete were excellent at the Old Hairdressers last night. Bootleg Beatles at the Barras on Thursday next.
  22. +1 for Sons & Daughters. Great band. The Twilight Sad are my favourite band from anywhere, so by default are my favourite Scottish band. I adore The Fratellis, who get better with every album, and have a soft spot for Travis, who were my first ever gig. The Blue Nile, 1990s, Mogwai, Cocteau Twins, We Are The Physics, Kassidy, Arab Strap, Idlewild, Belle & Sebastian, Kathryn Joseph, and the rest. Scotland has and continues to make an absolute f**k-tonne of great music.
  23. Freakender last night was a mixed bag. J. Mahon was excellent, and The Yummy Fur were great as usual. Geese at Tuts tonight. Really looking forward to this one.
  24. Manchester Psych Fest on Saturday, with King Gizzard on at midnight as well. Lineup is unreal but so, so many clashes.
