Andy_K_97
Gonna go see Johnny Marr in Inverness on Tuesday. Hoping he plays The Smiths; although I do really like his solo stuff, Playland was excellent imo. I'm going to see him at the Grand Hall in Killie on Thursday night. Saw him at the Glasgow Academy last October and he was amazingly good - his set's got a very good mix of his solo stuff, Smiths stuff and he even does Getting Away With It by Electronic. I know during this week he's been playing a cover of Crash by The Primitives, so there's every chance he'll be playing that too. I genuinely cannot wait to see him - I love just about everything he's ever done.
pantene proV
Headin round to the classic grand for Northside. Only know a couple of songs but reckon it's gonna be a good night Shall We Take A Trip & My Rising Star by any chance? Don't worry, most of the crowd will be in same boat!

pantene proV
Anyone going to the Ride gig in Edinburgh next Monday? Seemingly it's been moved to the Queens Hall from corn exchange which I'm delighted about tbh

Hope he's doing signings afterwards, the man is of legendary status. Met him outside after the Academy gig last year he must have spent a good half hour or so chatting to fans, signing stuff (1 guy must have got around half a dozen things signed) and posing for photos. It started raining and he even sent 1 of the security in for an umbrella so he could carry on. Genuinely nice guy who spent a good few minutes chatting to each fan before moving on. Tommy Nooka
Metric gig on Sunday night was brilliant, was just a teenie weenie bit pissed on Sunday night when I posted but I doubt if there is a better front woman in rock music than Emily Haines. Felt like a loved up teenager afterwards, still do. Here's another picture just in case you missed the first one Was very impressed by the support act too (apparently it was supposed to be Jess Glynne but unsurprisingly it wasn't), an Irish band called All Tvvins. Made some pretty big noise for a 3 piece and the guitarist was entertaining and 'energetic'. Will be looking out for more of their stuff.

I honestly cannot wait to see him now - I just hope I can pace myself on the swally and don't go overboard with it as a result of overexcitement.

Christophe
Anyone got any idea what The Twilight Sad have been playing in their Editors slots? Tommy Nooka
All Tvvins just announced a gig at King Tuts next month (25/11) and I'd highly recommend it, unfortunately I won't be able to make it. If their performance on Sunday was anything to go by they'll blow the roof off the place. I've checked out their singles it's a shame that their recorded stuff has nowhere near the weight of their live performance, there's much more emphasis on shredding.

His set was pretty much split 50/50 between his solo stuff and Smiths songs. Played Panic, Bigmouth Strikes Again, Still Ill, There is a Light That Never Goes Out, You Just Haven't Earned it Yet Baby and finished with How Soon is Now. He played a few songs that he hasn't recorded yet and some of the hits from Playland so aye you are in for a good show. Obviously his guitar playing was immaculate, and as mentioned above he is excellent with the fans. Really took time to speak to people who waited out for him, I got a photo with him n he signed the sleeve of my How Soon is Now single. Am still pretty buzzing that I saw him. Enjoy your gig bud. Also, he did in fact perform Crash by The Primitives, with his son who supported him with his band 'Man Made' I couldn't believe it was his son tbh, looks like something from The Darkness and Man Made kinda suck but I won't hold that against Johnny. Ira Gaines
Cheers Christophe. Quite decent stuff for a short setlist, although can't help feeling a bit disappointed that The Wrong Car isn't in there.
Richie95
Johnny Marr at the Grand Hall in Kilmarnock tonight. I'm not that big a fan of The Smiths but loved his solo stuff.
Sliced Bread
I'm going to see Mötley Crüe in Monte Carlo in a few weeks. Big fan and never got to see them before so looking forward to it. Disappointingly it's the only date on the tour that doesn't have Alice Cooper supporting, who I'm also a big fan of and have never seen. So that sucks. But still. dave.j
Johnny Marr at the Grand Hall in Kilmarnock tonight. I'm not that big a fan of The Smiths but loved his solo stuff. I'm neither a fan of The Smiths or his solo stuff, but my nephew loves him, so went along with him to the Carling, to see Johnny Marr. Absolutely cracking gig. Though you should do your best to get as close to the front as possible, as he is possibly the smallest guy in music!!!
