Twitter claimed that a verified tick didn't make those users inherently more valuable or anything despite allowing them to the ability to filter replies from anyone that didn't have a tick. Is some dunt today watching bozos like Yaxley-Lennon crying about their free speech being censored.

I think Twitter have been evaluating what a blue tick ‘means’ and the kind of message it gives i.e. some people might view a verified account as some form of endorsement from Twitter themselves. Tbf that’s not the best excuse for them, I think everyone would understand if they just admitted that they think Tommy Robinson is a c**t.

I think they’re removing a number of people’s blue ticks, but I doubt any of them will have such a fucking whinge about it as much as TR.

Some alt right halfwit known as Baked Alaska (me neither) not only had his blue tick removed, but also has been banned from Twitter. His reaction? A nine hour tantrum. Nine pints to anyone who can sit through all of this.

Only managed 2 minutes there, the last thing he said before I switched it off was “I’ve been an angel on twitter recently. All I’ve been tweeting about is bible verses and Super Mario.”

Tbf if it was up to me, he’d have been banned for wearing those sunglasses a long time ago.

Baked Alaska was the white supremacist followed featured by vice TV during Charlottesville.
He was a tough guy armed to the teeth looking for a war with the left. He was on later bawling his eyes out because the police were looking for him.

First reply “Delamum” and he about greets! [emoji23]. Was his mum particularly proud of their surname?

He had a wee strop a week or two ago, didn’t he?

I couldn't stop laughing at him crying about being called a h*n p***k a few weeks back

What a h*n p***k

It'd be interesting to hear how others approach Twitter and how other people's styles influence how likely you are to unfollow them etc.  My general philosophy is tweet things that are intriguing, debate-provoking or newsworthy (at least to some people).  I try and keep personal life tweets to a minimum.  There's a few people I follow (and many I've unfollowed) though who seem to talk about nothing but themselves with mundane garbage like what they had for dinner.  No thanks.

I mainly just retweet funny, Hearts related or sometimes political things. I very rarely actually tweet something, and even when I do it’ll be a reply to something rather than my own observation etc. I’m probably not worth following tbh.

Interestingly though I think I got someone from P&B on my suggested following list thing (ken where it shows you three folk to follow). Usually it’s some roaster you went to school with or a “banter” account or something. This one was a person who’s name I never recognised. Clicked on the profile and it was a Dundee fan in Hong Kong...
