VT is right, Pink Freud does have previous for his glorious Britishness, I've seen him make exactly the same sort of points (Scots singing Irish songs, English singing Scots songs, thats the great thing about being British) before, about how his British identity is so multicultural, open and wonderful. By the same token, he's dismissed other identities (European - tosh, doesn't exist, Scottish - chippy and parochial) that don't match his own. He's got more than enough previous on this.
