Stuperman01
Why hire a scout down south to sign players from the Scottish League 1? Goodwillie and Shankland aren't the answer to get us out this league.
Shodwall cat
Clark couldnt hit a coo on the arse with a banjo in our recent game against the pars. We should be looking for players good enough to win us the league and not just scrape into the playoffs 18 points off the top of the table. Our support crucified Housty for ‘lazy signings’ and folk have the cheek to shout for Goodwillie.
Shandon Par
Shankland looked really good for us..... in League One. Wouldn't be surprised if you got Gavin Reilly.
Bairnardo
I hope Paul Hartley is reading this thread and utterly pishing himself at suggestions like Shankland and Goodwillie.
Rugster
Found out yesterday Houstie's now running an "executive travel company". Code for being a taxi driver. One review of his company said "Driven to the airport by a LEGEND", another said "Our driver Peter was so polite and friendly". Just thought that was interesting.

He'd look slimmer if he was next to Shankland in the team photo though. Could be worth getting him in as a squad player.
Senor Bairn
Surprised Rory McAllister hasn’t been mentioned yet. Always without fail appears every pre season in this thread.

The one who also scored 15 league goals last season? Not bad for a bloke who played in midfield for a chunk. If he's struggling I'd genuinely be interested in what you'd say about every other striker in the league. Out of Clarks 14 league goals, 6 of them have came against part time sides. Due to the previously mentioned Nicky Clark. This will be the same player that took till the 9th December to score against a full time team 8 of his 21 goals are against full time teams, 50% of his goals last season were against the part time teams, they all count obviously but altho he has had a decent 2nd part of the season (out of contract by any chance ?) he has lived of his 38 goals at Queens in the 3rd tier in the same manner as Shankland and McManus
Stellaboz
And yet far better than anything you could offer this season.

Waiting on Riordan getting a mention also, cause you know he is tearing it up in one of the amateur leagues.

He is on the phone to our scout down South right now telling him to get his ass up here as some P&B posters claim there are a couple of decent signings playing in Scotland league 1.

Just because players like Clark have been better than some of the dumplings that have appeared for us this season doesnt mean their what we should be looking for. If our prime remit was top 4 we'd have been as well keeping hold of the likes of Craigen , Aird , McHugh and Baird . If he was to leave us and join another championship/Premiership team it would have nothing to do with his league 1 season, it would have absolutely everything to do with being one of the top scorers over the past two seasons in the championship. 23 minutes ago, Shodwall cat said: Yes because we've been pish. Falkirk_Bairn_1983
No point in discussing mid table championship players on this thread Hartley will be looking to bring in better than that next season.

A lot of clubs up here sign players purely based on the fact that they’ve heard of them and once scored against them 7 years ago or something. England is a fucking goldmine for Scottish Premiership and Championship clubs. Boys in League 2 and the Conference are miles better than the likes of Goodwillie and Shankland, and will want the same or less money. Absolute no brainer to look down south.

This season was a disaster not because of the players we let go of but because of the players we brought in. Whilst anything from 7th upwards would be an improvement anything less than 1st and promotion shouldnt be seen as acceptable if we're to move forward as a club. Dunfermline might be happy with 4th but we certainly shouldnt be even though weve been brutal this season. At the end of the day whether weve come 8th or 4th we'll both be in the same league next season and back on zero points again.
