Don't be daft. Scorsese was quoted, before the show began, as saying he had already seen the end of the mafia in The Sopranos, now he was going to show how it all started. He is hardly likely to kill off the main name in Mafia history now, is he?

He is crucial to the story as it goes from here, if Martin Martin Scorsese is seen as a credible source on this matter.

I'm not saying they will. What I'm saying is they could kill him anyway they wanted rather than have him die of syphilis. They can change the story slightly to suit how they want to progress.

I could have sworn that Jimmy whacked that Polish or Ukranian guy Mani that used to the butcher in the 2nd series!?!? Also, was that Nelson's nanny in tonight's episode or is it a different actress playing his wife?

They tried to kill Manny (The Ukranian) before but he managed to escape by sticking a meat cleaver through his assailants head. He was killed in this series because Richard (bloke with 1/2 a face) wanted revenge for the death of Jimmy and Jimmy's wife

As for Van Alden,

It is his nanny but he seems to have married her an their bringing up hios child as their own.

Watched the last 2 episodes of s2 last night, completly blown away by how good this show is, can see this being up high in the top 50 tv shows thread, gonna watch S3 tonight ,first 2 episodes anyway,

HBO really came up trumps with this series, investing huge amounts into it but they have created a legend IMO, the first series sets up the second perfectly.

I think the last two episodes of the second series are two ogre the best pieces of television I've ever seen. You'll be glad to know the third series doesn't disappoint.

This season has been fantastic so far. Hopefully we'll begin to see more of Richard Harrow but they've introduced Gyp Rossetti really well into show. You just know the storylines revolving around Chicago and Capone will explode into violence any time soon and I can't wait.

I just fucking love this show.
