itzdrk
Funny to think this all happened only a few hundred years ago
King Kebab
Ed Sheeran looks so out of place. It's like when Boy George was in the A Team, this shit shouldn't happen!!!

AyrshireTon
First time I've watched an episode on its broadcast date. To think that a year ago I'd never seen any of it. Good start tonight, especially the opening scene. This whole show has to end with Lyanna Mormont on the throne.

Christophe
For studious cleverclog types, the maesters at the Citadel are proper shit at knowing who's Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. When Samwise Gamgee rocks up they think it's still Mormont. And now Samwise thinks it's still Jonathan Snow. -
Swarley
You know, she's murdering everyone who's ever crossed herBut she fell in love with a Lannister manKissed her on the neck and then I took her by the handSaid, "baby, I just want to dance"My pretty little Westeros girlMy, my, my, my, my, my, my Westeros girlMy, my, my, my, my, my, my Westeros girlMy, my, my, my, my, my, my Westeros girl
invergowrie arab
Thought the episode overall was great. The Ed Sheeran cameo and his stupid gormless face was shit but I thought the whole scene was badly acted, horribly written over egged guff.
Christophe
Just starting a rewatch....there's at least 3 giants in the Walker army. Didn't notice there were more than one! Edited July 17, 2017 by Christophe -

Also the Sheerin scene was fine, f**k all wrong with him or it, as said before it was bringing Arya's humility back into focus. Which was nice. Her good side was already shown in the opening scene as Frey when she told that girl next to her not to drink the wine. Her killing of the Frey family was entirely justified imo. And I just felt like the closing line of the scene "I'm going to kill the Queen" really could've been an epic moment but the whole scene just felt a bit misplaced and not really written very well if I'm honest. The Chlamydia Kid
Ed Sheehan cameo was pathetic. Absolutely beneath the show to just wheel someone on because they're famous. Sansa is an absolute boot. Spent all her life being spineless and now she's going to become a bitch and undermine Jon and divide the opposition to the walkers.
ham89
I was pretty pleased with the episode as a whole but there is still a lot that the TV show has ruined that worked well in the books. On TV purely, Ed's cameo was stupid and so out of place. The whole Sansa / Littlefinger thing is getting a bit much now but I'm generally happy about the way the show is moving now.
Swarley
The sooner Lyanna Mormont wipes out the Starks and takes over the North the better imho.

Those incidental fireside scenes are a GoT staple, and most of them are pretty clunky. Nobody complains about any of them because they're so unremarkable and unmemorable. Without roundface in it that scene would have passed without note. Hope those lads do something else though so it's wasn't just a Sheeran vehicle. We can't judge the value of that scene until we see what happens next. Edited July 18, 2017 by Christophe -
invergowrie arab
I disagree because Sheeran was only the third worst actor in the scene. I don't doubt it's an important scene, very little in GoT is wasted I just thought that 1. The premise was unnecessary As has already been said Arya's compassion was already demonstrated in the opening scene and her violence has, in the main, been targeted so there is no real need to begin to get her to explore that. That said, last nights mass murder was a bit of a departure from her strict list. 2. The dialogue was terribly written. Laying it on with a shovel and completely unlike any dialogue you have heard from soldiers in the show since so it was really jarring. However that does lead me onto one thought that there were a couple of instances last night that highlighted the importance of children in the wars to come. The Lannister soldiers are obviously younger than what we have seen before, not as battle hardened, damaged and a bit more naive. We also had the KarStark and Umber children. Whether this is just a device to show the passage of time or more significant we will see. Off top of my head the only adults from the first series left are Cersei, Jaimie, tyrion, littlefinger, the hound and varys. I think we might be down to half of that by the end of this one.
