Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Recommended Posts

Well, to be fair, days of Alex Fergusons coaching in the Scottish league are gone, an average muffin by global standards is all you need right now. I wouldn't mind an average one for my club.

I was thinking about this recently.  Why do clubs select their managers from such a shallow pool?  It's all ex-players and, to be fair, football players aren't always the sharpest tools in the box.

There's reasonably good money in football so I wonder why we don't have more non-footballing types going into football management.  Lots of folk will have good man-management skills, good organizational skills, good planning skills and a reasonable knowledge of football tactics.  Leave the coaching to the ex-players and bring in someone capable of stringing two thoughts together?  A couple of months of intensive training and Bob's yer auntie's husband.

Maybe Warburton really is the start of a revolution in Scottish football management.  Arsenal haven't done badly and Mourinho seems to have done OK in most of his jobs.

They were legal in that nobody is going to jail. Rangers however, failed - as things stand - to operate theirs successfully. The result is that they owed more tax than they could ever pay.

They could owe more tax than they would ever be able to pay. The Supreme Court ruling will clarify that.

If they had not had the tax bill (for the EBTs)which could be potentially in the 100 million area hanging over them, they could probably have avoided liquidation as they might have been able to negotiate a CVA.

But the possibility of this massive tax bill scuppered that. They would still have had to deal with the 20 (?) milion PAYE & NI bill run up under Craig Whyte, if that was more than 25% of the total debt they could have had a problem - HMRC aren't keen on CVAs which give them only a % of what they are due.

Folks, this story is dead in the water.

You all have a view on what happened in 2012 and subsequently.

We are where we are and we will most likely have a team playing at ibrox in the premiership next year.

Not a particularly palatable thought but is this debate really worth the energy?

Start looking to the future ffs

That's what they want though. We should never allow them to forget what actually happened otherwise the history rewriters will keep the lies alive and allow them to become the truth.

We must allow the next generation of fans to know the truth. Don't let the liquidation deniers win.

Lest they forget.

I know they played a major part into their eventual death, but what I am asking is what happened to the money owed to HMRC after Whyte took over?

Whyte bought Rangers for £1, but I doubt he spent a penny more on paying the bills, and it seems likely he was used as a pawn to deliberately and conscientiously run Rangers into liquidation, and subsequent debt/guilt free resurrection.

Again, I have not been following the whole saga too closely, so apologies if going over old ground

Aye, he was certainly conscienctious about it!

THIS!

Until titles are stripped due to sleekit cheating and 'new club' status is acknowledged BRALT must continue

Seeing as the issue is long settled with everyone of any relevance, is there a cut-off point here? Do you take your seethe to the grave, or does there come a time when you think "f**k it, life's too short, I'm wasting good years here."

You'd like that wouldn't you. If you don't want to be constantly reminded of your club's death don't come into the thread. Just accept what you keep repeating on here as the truth and leave us to laugh at you in peace. Or you could let that doubt eat you up and keep trying and trying to convince us that your preferred reality is true. I think you feel that if you can convince us then you can lay down your own doubts, your conscience will be clear. Sorry, you will have to find solace elsewhere, we will never accept the lies and opposition crowds will always sing "You're no Rangers anymore". You may try to convince yourself that it is only a minority who feel your club died but just about every supporter outside your club watched it die. The only people whose recognition of the history matters are your peers whom you believe you have bragging rights over, if we don't recognise your history then you have nothing over us, the self worth you derive from following a successful club is negated. You might even have to face real life.

Not me, I hope your good self, Monkey and Ken find our secret to immortality and continually howl at the moon from here till eternity.

Quality post

Yes, I am sure this thread, and your hatred along with it, would die without Rangers fans expressing their opinions.

And as for "doubt" - big . I'll say it again - it's not me you need to convince. You're wasting your time. If you feel so strongly, get on the phone to the SFA, UEFA, ASA, Lord Nimmo and all the rest of them who long ago quite rightly recognised us as the same club. If all you can do is log on to P&B for a daily tinfoil hat groupwank with your fellow diddies then I'm not entirely sure what you expect to change.

If anyone can sit back and laugh, it's the Bears. Nae luck.

The same UEFA whose rules do not allow a change of structure in case of insolvency?

The same SFA whose independent panel ruled that new Rangers did not inherit arbitration rights over the TUPE rebels transfer fees?

Does it bother you that the website you're using to constantly remind us still refers to the club as Rangers.

Your new team is actually called rangers, why would it bother him? You poor bears are always desperate for us to be bothered, upset or angry.
