Owsley
He's supposedly doing a piece tomorrow night about the local businesses that have been shafted by them. Haven't noticed anyone else in the broadcast media doing this.

THE KING
Surely you're not suggesting Shug was the badass who scared the life out of poor Thommo. got to be daryl king or mark hately.
Bearwithme
got to be daryl king or mark hately. Not sure Hateley counts as a journo. I've seen a suggestion (from a Celtic fan) that the "threat" was some stupid comment in old Leggo's blog. Maybe we'll find out tonight....
Ivo den Bieman
To be honest Thomson isn't doing his credibility much good by going big on this "threat". I hope for his sake that it's more than a passing comment on a wingnut's little-visited blog. If that really is the source of the "threat", then he'll be pointed and laughed long at, and rightly so.

Yeah, spot on. I had assumed it was a "I'm going to take you outside and give you a leathering" type threat. Thomson sounds a bit of a fud to be honest.
sjc
According to Alex Thomson's Twitter feed he will also reveal a cure for AIDS, a new variety of GM corn that will feed the world and the location of the Ark of the Covenant. He's the type of journalist that he purports to criticise. Egotistical and days behind the pace of the story. as opposed to the Daily Record & Sportsound that could only be bigger cheerleaders for Rangers if they wore the uniforms !
chico
who really cares about these "journo" turf wars anyway , the real meaty stuff this week is at Hampden when the SFA disciplinary proceedings, adjourned from last month, re-convene on 17, 18 and 20 April to hear Craig Whyte & Rangers reps defend the charges brought by the SFA Compliance Officer... Notices of Complaint issued Thursday, 15 March 2012 The following Notices of Complaint have been issued by the Compliance Officer: Issued to: Rangers FC Dates: 6th May 2011 to 6th March 2012 Disciplinary Rule(s) allegedly breached: Rules 1, 2, 14, 66 and 71 Principal Hearing Date: Thursday, 29th March 2012 Issued to: Craig Whyte, Director, Rangers FC Dates: 6th May 2011 to 6th March 2012 Disciplinary Rule(s) allegedly breached: Rules 66 and 71 Principal Hearing Date: Thursday, 29th March 2012 Rule 1 (b): All members shall: (b) be subject to and comply with the Articles and any statutes, regulations, directives, codes, decisions and International Match Calendar promulgated by the Board, the Professional Game Board, the Non Professional Game Board, the Judicial Panel, a Committee or sub-committee, FIFA, UEFA or the Court of Arbitration for Sport; Rule 2: Each member shall procure that its officials, its Team Staff and its players act in accordance with Rule 1. Rule 14 (g): Full membership or associate membership may be suspended or terminated, or a fine may be issued, in any of the following circumstances:- (g) where a full member or an associate member suffers or is subject to an insolvency event. Rule 66: No recognised football body, club, official, Team Official or other member of Team Staff, player, referee, or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall bring the game into disrepute. Rule 71: A recognised football body, club, official, Team Official, other member of Team Staff, player or other person under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA shall, at all times, act in the best interests of Association Football and shall not act in any manner which is improper. Skudbook
Alex Thomson never said he was going to name the mystery journalist tonight. He says " will be named at the right time in the right place"Which is fair enough. At least the guy is asking some questions of UEFA,SFA,SPL and MSP'sNo one else in the media is ... archie guevara
as opposed to the Daily Record & Sportsound that could only be bigger cheerleaders for Rangers if they wore the uniforms ! Not sure of the point you are making. The point I was making is that for all of of Thomson's sef promotion, none of what he has reported has come as a surprise to anyone who has been interested in Rangers financial affairs over the past few months. He's also not very good. Incidentally, I don't think many, if any Scottish journalists could be accused of being cheerleaders for the current Rangers incarnation. At worst, they are going easy on them and sticking their fingers in their ears if someone tries to say something that they don't want to hear. Makes them look stupid, but in some cases that's what we've come to expect.

Makes them look stupid, but in some cases that's what we've come to expect. The point I'm making is that very rarely (if at all) do our Scottish mainstream football media report negatively on either of the OF..........we all know why - because they don't wish to alienate 50-60,000 readers by seemingly attacking their club. All of us interested in Scottish football know this and if ever asked on a phone about this would be shouted down or cut off as some foil hat wearing fantasist.............at least Alex Thomson, who isn't remotely interested in the shitty parochial footballing goldfish bowl of Glasgow, has outed these Journalists plus he's asking relevant questions (i.e: no self presevational interests) to the powers that be: UEFA, SFA, SPL, HMRC........ Big headed/ego he may well be but at least he's a proper investigative journalist unlike our lot who wouldn't know if its New York or New Year ! -
yorkshirepud
"STATEMENT FROM THE RANGERS SUPPORTERS ASSEMBLY, SUPPORTERS ASSOCIATION AND SUPPORTERS TRUST "Rangers fans worldwide have been very patient during the the recent difficult period in the hope that we will exit administration and be able to work towards re-establishing our club at the level to which we all aspire. However, the delay in the administrator's announcing the preferred bidder is seriously jeopardising our chances of exiting administration quickly and is forcing us closer to liquidation. With the proposed SPL rule changes meaning we may not be competing on an equal footing for the next two seasons, it is imperative we have the chance to exit administration with a Company Voluntary Agreement and that has to happen as soon as possible. We demand that the administrators announce the preferred bidder as a matter of urgency. If they fail to do so on Monday 16 April 2012, we demand to be informed precisely why they cannot announce a preferred bidder" And if the administrators dont give into these "demands" what are they going to do? release another statement If they had been competing on an equal footing for the last fifteen years we wouldn't need this thread.
